Millions and millions of pregnancies are an accident. It is very naive to think any of us were planned, whether we come from a family unit or not. The choice isn't always the mothers whether or not they have/keep a child, a whole load of factors determine that. However, invariably mothers are left with the child when relationships breakdown whether they like it or not, they get a far rawer deal than men.

In terms of my own situation I see two parents that were completely incompatible from the start. A prime example of two people that collectively managed to cause a lot of trauma all because they failed to consider the impact that their own behavior would have on children. If anything my understanding of that situation only confirms my belief that people without means or any decent reason to be having children should not be having them. It is selfish and inconsiderate not just on the kids but the state who ends up having to subsidize the lifestyle. My own beliefs are that everything should be done to minimise any of that ever happening.

I am cool with people having children who are genuinely devoted to one another and children who are raised with security, love and confidence. However, we all know that this is becoming less and less common and that to me is a tragedy. To have 6 kids and have them trying to escape to welfare states. That is an absolute disaster and it makes me angry. How dare those women and yes, how dare those men do that! It boggles my mind and instead of saying 'How about we stop this nonsense!' you have lefties saying it is me who is selfish. I am not selfish. I consider my impact to the extreme. I don't demand that people be like me. I do demand that nobody have children unless they have thought about it properly and will never abandon them or put them through things that never needed to happen.

The notion that it is an accident is all too true, but not a good enough excuse. That is why as an adult I have consciously rejected the path my parents took and refuse to ever countenance the possibilities of 'a mistake'. A child should never be a mistake! It is the most serious thing you can ever do in life. To bring a life into this world. A being who has no say in the laws, the methods of parenting, the trauma that will inevitably result from poverty, constant moving, the lack of father figures etc. To pass it off as an accident is just wrong. Not all men are scallywags, but many are and a woman typically has the say in who she dates. If you take the time to court someone, to build a relationship, over time you know who they are. I agree with Miles 100% that the woman has far more responsibility as it is she who has to carry the child for 9 months and then nurse the child and most likely raise the child so therefore it is she who has four more responsibility to her own self.

That's true, Al. Brock makes a good point there though. Technically a man could have a one night stand and never see the woman again. She would be left with a baby and it would hardly be the ideal situation for that baby. In that sense she needs to be more wary and understand that it isn't just a bit of fun. She will have to be pregnant for a long time and be left with a child to raise. Surely she should be more sensible and be responsible for her body. In the olden days you would be more careful about all of this as there was no welfare state, but today there are no consequences for reckless behavior.

Miles on the contrary women in the United States get paid $440 per month for each child if they are single moms. If you go to the ghetto areas where I used to live like East Orange New Jersey for example or Paterson New Jersey or in Jersey City you have single moms there with four kids from two or three different fathers and she is collecting $440 per month per kid so technically 1800 US dollars per month from the for kids that more than pays her discounted public housing known as Section 8 housing plus she will get food stamps as well so basically it covers the rent the utilities the food and the transportation.
