Fake News: An Age 14 Boy Who Did Nothing but Smile is Vilified by the Media

He raised money by claiming he was a Vietnam vet.

I was in the reserves same as him, but I never boast about it. It was just a part-time job, one weekend per month and two evenings a week. It's very easy to at least get promoted to corporal in the reserves.

I'm the same age as Phillips, who like myself is a bit too young to have fought in Vietnam. I would never lie and tell people I fought in Vietnam.

What irks me is despite being a liar (saying he was a Ranger when he was a refrigerator repair man, saying he was honourably discharged, and saying he was in Vietnam) with a history of violence and jail time, he's a media darling, while some decent kids who did nothing wrong are being vilified and threatened with violence. It's an injustice.

It's clarified. It's over. Move on.

This isn't about injustice, it's because you have a win over the 'leftist' media. Like the right wing press wouldn't do exactly the same in reverse. This faux outrage is transparent.

No I know. I agree. It was absolutely wrong.

But some people are carrying it on and on because it suits their agenda, not because they are actually bothered about the kids. That's the 'faux'. I agree that what happened to them was totally wrong. But again, some people would not say a word if it was 'leftist' kids that were libelled by the right wing press. If you are outraged by the press actions, then be outraged by their actions regardless of which 'side' is the victim.
