Canelo really "took over" the light heavyweight division the way Roy Jones took over the heavyweight division.

both roy & canelo looked great in those fights

Looking good is far different from taking over a division. Beating an alphabet champion in Kov or Ruiz and then running away to not take the top champion is not dominating any division but simply cherry picking.
