    https://www.espn.com.sg/boxing/story...ermall-sept-30

"Canelo Alvarez to face Jermell Charlo, not brother Jermall, on Sept. 30"

Ok so Canelo will be facing Jermell Charlo.

    Jermell... the undisputed at 154.

So Jermell is going to go up to 168 to face Canelo.

The same Canelo who has been called out by Jermall Charlo for a long time. Hell... at least Jermall fights at 160.

But anyway... so Jermell is going up TWO weight divisions to fight Canelo.

Canelo couldn't drag Badou Jack 20 pounds south for a BOGUS cruiserweight title... so he's dragging Jermell Charlo up TWO weight divisions to fight at 168.

    Got it.

Yes. Canelo's working on his legacy. His legacy as the biggest cherry-picking, trinket-chasing, weight-jumping, ducking, coddled, overhyped DIVA that this generation of boxing has ever known.

I am SOOOO fukking glad I don't have to defend him from a fanboy's point of view.

Hell... Badou Jack ridiculed him. Told him to go fight Benavidez. JMM called him out. Said the WBC should take his straps away.

Red-haired clown is the laughing stock of the sport of boxing. At least among serious fans.

Fanboys and groupies will always give him a pass.

Wait what's going on here, who named these guys So he's fighting the 154 guy? Ok that's odd, on the bright side I don't think there's any chance he doesn't face whoever comes out on top from benavidez and Tom Morello, this time the waiting doesn't help Alvarez.

I hope he doesn't fight Spence but that suggestion seems to have a lot of legs, surely too much for there to be nothing to it... And anyway Crawford will put a stop to all of that anyway
    .

So it looks like whichever Charlo it is, Spence and then the winner only benavidez v Morello,....well don't be sad, one out of three ain't bad......it's nearly a meat loaf song.

Aha I see her mell is the younger of the charlie, alvarez clearly decided that he wanted to fight the young lion Charlo instead of the old wolf...or something like that.

i just did. but i can't blame jermell, it's the first male undisputed vs undisputed fight of the four belt era & his biggest payday. i think timmy would have also taken the fight with canelo if it was offered to him

Of course he would have. Who these days turns down a mega payday even at the risk of getting knocked out due to a huge size difference? It's the Canelo Traveling Circus Show.

But Jermell won the lottery because of the four belts.

Casuals and fanboys don't give a damn that this is basically Canelo-Khan 2.0.

amir khan was knocked out at lightweight. jermell has never been knocked out & has shown a very good chin. jermell is also an undisputed champion. the fights are nothing alike

But we all know that would never happen. Tim was set to have his Canelo'ish type fight vs Charlo...biggest name, purse, all the titles etc. It was literally signed and dated before Charlo opted out. What is making this are the belts and the literal header (empty header if we're honest) of "undisputed vs undisputed". All a cash grab and have to wonder cash out for Charlo to go enjoy some more inactivity. And I'll go out on a limb and say regardless of outcome he will not be going back to 154. What's NOT making it happen is either Charlos or Canelos clear definitive dominance over the very top threats it their respected division. That's usually how these things work, sweep a division clean, collect all the trinkets, pound your chest and then go slay bigger game up North. Not here.

empty header? are both fighters not undisputed? cash grad? sure. can you blame jermell? he gets a big payday & a shot at winning undisputed in his second division, two weights above. it's a win win situation for jermell. i think you're right & i agree that i don't think jermell will be back at one fifty four. in a perfect world it would be nice to see fighters sweep a division clean (both these guys have all the trinkets) & move up. david b v david b was supposedly signed for october before david b started talk of jaime. jermell took the win win fight over the high risk less reward fight with timmy. canelo was attempting to rematch dmitry but dmitry wasn't happy with the terms, what is there for jermell at middle?
