Haha, completely agree with The Prestige. Actually, my friend who is quite into movies, made me take Children of Men after I was already borrowing The Prestige to show my mom. I'd never heard of the movie which is crazy because it was so great and obviously had to have quite a budget.

And the scene with the baby is probably one of the most memorable scenes in movie history for me. The power in that scene, especially early on where people are risking getting hit by bullets to catch a glimpse of the baby is absolutely amazing.

I'd equate the symbolism of the baby to that of Jesus Christ walking into a battlefield. It was truly beautiful.

I agree, it was the realest movie ever. That first explosion, when he makes it out of the cafe is awesome. It's how I would think a real explosion would look. You won't get a giant fireball with cars being lifted and a main character running into it, you'll get that.
