Golly gee, when I read the title of this thread I was expecting Pride to announce his "coming out of the closet" celebration. Guess it's a little premature yet.

Anyhoo; I couldn't see how anyone wouldn't see the greatness in Floyd in the 1st place. Guys beat everyone put in front of him, and most with an ease that is almost absurd in its effortlessness. My only complaint is this b.s. rematch with Oscar; as he should be fighting Cotto if he wants to claim best 147 around; or even PW, as he is a major threat.

As far as Hopkins/Calzaghe goes, I would be shocked to see Joe run circles around Hop. Hopkins has been there done that and Hop will be up for this fight like no other; especially since there is that "clash of countries" thing and he won't want to be beat much less embarassed by a "foreigner"{a white one at that}lol. Expect a war inside to say the least.

    Manfredo is still a joke

LOL thanks for the insight, LEGION!

No, I'm not quite ready to come out of Narnia... I need to feel mor comfortable...

I never said I disagreed with him being a great boxer... I just haven't been a fan of his adopted style of late.

Joe will not run circles arounf Bhop but he will win the fight

LOL, just messin' with you Pride.

I hope Calzaghe beats him and beats him bad, but I think that old lion Hopkins has got some major reserves in the tank that we will see come fight night. I was originally hoping this fight wouldn't happen, but I am really looking forward to it now.

What are we supposed to say now? I punched your ass out! nice post!

no more CC.. that was too easy..

Anyway.. I hope Hopkins wins, and i think he will be able to do it if he gets off to a decent start.. I have this bad feeling that he'll fall behind early and get started in the 6th-7th round alla Jermain Taylor (which was probably something like the 8th-9th in that fight)

And i'm pulling for Taylor again in the Pavlik fight.. Do i think that Pav could knock him out earlier this time? Sure.. Taylor needs to win the fight within the first 5 rounds.. He will only win this fight by KO because sooner or later Pavlik WILL catch him..

Takes a big man to admit when he's wrong Pride,So I'll be looking for another similar thread after hopkins gets done with calzaghe .It may not be pretty but It'll fall into that backslide, hardright & maul ,Body shot, spin hook etc. type affair.Im a convert on Joe,I like him but the key for him is workrate with volume punching and momentum.I think that if/when Hopkins offsets Calzaghes forward tempo and gets him stationary, even for a short bit....Its deepwater for Joe.Ive been waiting for Hopkins to get old overnight for a looong time?? One things for sure,Hopkins better not f!!! around and try to put on a masterpiece.....IF he clips Calzaghe bad,Go for the finish & Vice versa for Joe.
Agree with ya on Mayweather.I think his mouth can outshine his talent to some but the man has superb skills and talent.Deserves mass respect. IMO,He must face Cotto,Cintron,Margarito,Williams etc at least one of them, rather than a retread payday with DeLaHoya.Another win over Oscar proves natta's.
Little green box filling to ya (what do we call that) Rep points? weak.

I agree with most of what was said except i'm not ready to commit to joe beating hopkins. I've doubted the old man too many times. At face value joe looks to be an easy favorite but hopkins always finds a way.
