To say he'll never fight there due to the gloves is weak, but i can understand it not being his preference since you always want to do whatever gives you the best chance to win, but if the other guy can wear them you should be able to also. Mid-as-well basically say i'm not fighting floyd in vegas

Vegas does have the right to allow 8 oz gloves for fights at their discretion. You better believe that if there was a big money fight out there (Cotto-FLoyd, Cotto-Oscar), they'd waive that rule in a heartbeat to get the revenue from a big fight like that.
But this will be an interesting negotiating point if there are ever serious talks between Floyd and Cotto. Obviously Floyd would want to use 10 oz gloves.

I thought another reason for the non Vegas thing was the large Puerto Rican base on the east coast. I think also Cotto's fights haven't done decent PPV #'s on the West Coast

I'd understand if Miguel didn't want to fight with 10oz gloves having become accustomed to the 8 oz variety.
One may think that there is little difference, but the better you become the more the difference becomes.

If FLoyd wants to fight him in vegas with 22 oz gloves (I KNOW) then they will fight there with those gloves so Arum should shut up.
Kind of a random question aimed at anyone, but if both fighters agree to it, can they sanction bouts where one fighter uses a different size glove than the other... I.e, if Floyd agreed to let Cotto wear 8oz, could he still choose to wear 10's himself?? Im thinking no, just cause I've never heard of it happening.
