TM, what would you say is the average purse for a debut fighter?
An ordinary guy kicking off?

It would really depend on the market I was getting you booked in.It varies wildly.
Not to mention travel costs,which are usually covered
Not to mention lisence costs(it can get very pricey depending on the med work they want done)this is also usually covered by the promoter
But if you had a good amateur card,Id look for somewhere between a grand in Cali,all the way down to 400 in WV
Like I said,its honestly overhyped because the major league tickets,the headliners make a ton of coin.
I mean you get your head handed to you just as much on the low tickets,but then again when your doing amateurs,or semi-pro,your more or less giving it away.Your actually paying for the privledge if you think about it.

On the plus side,they have you in and out of there so fast,you miss at best 2 days of work.
And your not making $600(Im going for the middle here)for 2 days of work.
And certainly not for 12 total minutes,which is what your actually going to do.
It is a serious ball pain though getting corners booked for these though.
Because you can only pony up so much if your the manager,I mean it almost allways comes out of your purse.
I have to put up my next cornerman up in our guest room in a couple of a weeks,I dont mind doing it mind you.Its just the nature of the animal.
But when the cheers hit you,its worth it.
This game just puts the stink on you,and you cant get it off no matter how hard you try

Boxing doesn't suck, it's just been forced out of the limelight by other sports and for good reasons too.

Other sports are more consistent in their entertainment value....with boxing you never know what you're going to get, a brawl, a bloodbath, a Svenn Ottke fight, a John Ruiz fight....a boring decision ....a controversial stoppage. Boxing has so many variables.

There is corruption in boxing and it's been there since the start and people don't like it....and there are 100s of titles, there should only be one per division!

Boxing is difficult to do and in this era of entitlement people don't like difficult they want something they can do without propper training or much competition, and so they invent sports.....the X-Games, MMA....it's the pussification of the world, the "We all deserve tropheys" crowd. Boxers EARN their money and respect and you can get one without the other, just ask Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing when done correctly, is the one truth in sport...who is the best? who is the toughest? who is the strongest? who is the smartest? Those questions can only be answered in a 1 on 1 sport like boxing
