I've4 stopped thinking of this now, much more important things on nthe horizon.
There's one thing more dangerous than a naturally aggressive, naturally large opponent, it's a smaller, highly trained and aggressive opponent.
I'll have my work cut out for me tomorrow.

Yeah don't worry Andre I get what you mean. There's a guy in my gym who doesn't really know his own strength and once in a while if he's in a bad mood he'll let something go a bit harder than he should. He's a light heavyweight with more experience than me so the only revenge I'm likely to get is verbal. If you call him an asshole he's proud - call him a bitch though and it stings. To be fair though I get along well with him most of the time.
Always focused is our Hitmandonny
Just watch out for the A hole if you do decide to cycle around his neighbourhood.
Hope the bout goes well! Keep us posted coz you know you're so helpful and encouraging to all us beginner bums you're the type of grounded person we'd love to see go all the way!![]()
Donny - just wondered how you did today mate ?
'To speak with his equal and irish man is forced to talk with God...'
Hey Shamrock, thanks for asking mate....
I won, unanimous points decision....I put him down in the first and when he got up I broke his nose, cruelly I picked at that for the remainder and worked left hooks on him for a wide win....although I was scrappy in round 2 and I wasn't as good defensively as I would have liked. The knockdown was a huge confidence boost in the first. I had thought up until that point he was the stronger fitter fighter, but in that moment I realised that I could box aggresively and dominate, but perhaps I was a little full on. Still a wide unanimous decision is a good win.
Afterward was strange, there were so many old trainers, friends and acquaintances congratualating me and it was very surreal in that my head was a just so rushed with adrenaline that I didn't actually hear anything that was said to me at all

Congrats mate. He must have been a tough kid to fight on with a broken nose...
What weight do you fight at ? Was it a sanctioned amateur fight or full on sparring ?
Sorry I'd ask this in a PM but I don't have enough posts... yet![]()

It was an amateur bout, It was held as part of the Irish Intervarsity boxing Tournament...
I box at Light Middle although I've boxed predominantly at middle up until now....
And I'll tell you what, I may not have liked him, but I've got a truck load of respect for him, My hands are sorry from tagging him ON the nose and he fought on!
