I really don't believe this. Maybe there are a few Floyd fans who don't want to see him fight Cotto, but those people are idiots. The vast majority of Floyd fans want to see him fight Cotto eventually... because it will be a great fight.

When people say he "doesn't bring enough to the table," they don't mean skills-wise or talent-wise, it's that he doesn't bring enough to the table yet moneywise.

As has been pointed out in a ton of threads, fighters are always going to fight the opponent who brings them the most money. Cotto is nowhere near as big of a draw as Oscar, it's not even close.
