We were having a meal after the weigth in. On the other table was Archie Moore With his crew and Big George, I said to a Boxing Historian mate dont Archie look great how old is he now. My mate said go and ask him it will be okay he likes people to ask him just go over put your hand on his shoulder and ask. I said you sure my mate said certain, so I did and got the reply mind your own Fucking Biusness. Going back I saw my lot laugthing there bollocks off. I said to my mate you cunt, His reply thats the two things he hates the most didnt you know people asking his age and strangers touching him. I have the best.....Oliver McCall, he worked out at the gym I go to...I was worried the trainers were going to try to make me spar with him (I being one of the few heavyweights at the gym). He was a really down to Earth guy, nice guy.

It closed down at the end of '06 beginning of '07. The city is strapped for fund and looking to cut costs. It stayed open as long as it did because Steward was digging into his own wallet to keep it open. The straw that broke the camel's back was looters breaking in to steal copper piping. Apparently, the building is so old it's difficult to secure. The fighters train at other Kronk gyms, but they aren't THE Kronk.

cool , ive always wanted to tour america hopefully i will in the coming years ...only to tour the boxing gyms like gleasons,kronk gym,5th street gym ,frazier's , salvador sanchez gym etc ...thats what i'd do if id live there.

Iv'e been to Gleasons twice when visiting New york & owner Bruce Silverdale made us very wellcome. we spent a couple of hours there each time chatting to boxers & trainers.It's really full of atmosphere. When I was in Vegas for the Hatton fight i went to Johnny Tacos Gym & was gutted to find it closed
