How good does Cotto's resume look now?

That's quite some record. To go through all them and remain undefeated is exceptional imo.

Cotto is one mighty impressive guy when it comes to quality of opposition and the performance's he's put in, what a guy!

I feel his fights with Gomez and perhaps Mayorga could be just as essential though, depending on how good he looks.

He's great to watch and is brilliant at what he does but to become number one pound for pound he has to beat Floyd and he won't. Floyd will beat him by fighting like he did against Oscar. It'll be a great fight when it eventually happens just as long as it isn't refereed by Joe Cortez.

I'll say Judah and Mosley (past their primes) are so far the biggest names in his resume. As for Mayweather, well, ODLH, Hatton, Judah, Mitchell, Gatti, N'Dou, Castillo, Corrales, Manfredi, Hernandez, etc. Haven't seen Mayweather getting rocked silly yet or cut. Perhaps Cotto will be the first one to do so (I hope), but I just can't see it.

I think history will be kind to Miguel. A journeyman Judah and a Mosley in the autumn of his days are great names...but not neccessarily great wins.

Whilst I don't think the jury is out on Miguel anymore...he's still in need of a career defining fight isn't he?

I agree steelie, although Cotto's record is solid it is also misleading. He has never fought the #1 ranked guy in a division, nor has he dethroned a Ring champion.

Perhaps he's just biding his time whilst the Mayweather/De La Hoya merry-go-round runs it's course...who knows.................suffice to say he's arrived in a division at a time when it seems to have been almost hijacked by Floyd Mayweather.

I think Cotto should push for the winner of Margarito/ Cintron instead of Mayorga. So in other words Margarito!

Hi steelie , well with all respect , we know that PBF have a great resume theres no doubt on that , but in JWW PBF fought with the most better in that Division and he won them by UD and count like a great win, so Cotto fought with them too and won by KO , so in WW Div. he won Quintana by KO , Judah by KO and Mosley by UD .....Do you think that is not a great win?......at least for me have a better resume in WW than PBF......

I know I'm gonna sound like a broken record here BUUUUT
I remember the days when people were saying Cotto wouldn't amount to anything....
Hes too robotical, hes 1 dimensional, he couldn't carry Zab Judahs jock strap etc. etc.

I remember this very clearly when I said "Cottos young and has a great mindset. He has room to improve and he will"
I was laughed I was told there was no way Cotto would improve. He fights 1 way and 1 way only. With fighters like Zab, Margarito, Spinks, Vernon, Mayorga etc. etc. he would never be able to improve....


I gotta say it feels great to have seen Cotto go from prospect, to contender, to World Champion and hopefully he can become an ATG.

Cottos one of my very 1st fighters I've seen go full circle and I'm proud to say I've been there from very early on. Kinda like some of you guys who saw Tyson from the start, or Lennox from day 1 or Eubank.
