In reality hatton has very few fights left in him to prove himself. He needs to look impressive in the fights he does have left. A complete omination or early stoppage of the once-decenet Lazcano will look ok whilst earning him his usual high purse.....
Tell me you wouldn't do the same....

If I was in Hatton's shoes, getting paid that much I'd let johnathan Thaxton have a rematch

For Christ's sake no... and I understand what you're saying... That is one of the reasons I never understood why taylor was never adopted as the true middleweight champ... The string of fights he was in was amazing... Barring those two tune ups after Wright.

Every fighter takes tuneups form time to time. Some fighters need more mental rebuilding after a loss then others.

IMO Taylor looked the best I had ever seen him in the second Pavlic fight. Back never touched the ropes... Didn't gas in the later rounds. Fought well... Amazingly, I might add...

I think after fighting Mayweather of all people and getting KOd you should be allowed a comeback fight... What they do with the ppv or the purses is non of my concern. I want to see the best Ricky Hatton in there when he fights Witter... A guy with all his confidence.

Do I think Hatton could jump in the ring and a few months and fight Witter? Sure I do. I think he'd win too... Not easily but I think he'd win.

Do I want him to jump in there in a few months to fight witter? No...

    Plain and simple

If i hated someone that much the first thing i would want to do is punch him in the face! Hatton is stalling and his excuses are wearing thin, he needs this fight to regain credibility that he is losing everyday this fight is not made. I can't see his problem, i think he would smack Witter around for about 8 rounds before stopping him, it's very strange.

I've got no problem with what he gets paid - as the the fans will either buy it or they wont. No one is forced to buy it

I'd of prefered him to fight Witter but he isn't...but that's not to say he wont at some point.

Hatton has been in with the best fighter on the planet in floyd so i don't see why he would be scared of witter...but i do belive there is something in witter his camp see's that doesn't sit well with them. These are all just guesses only hatton and his people know for sure.....Sad really cause i think this would be a great fight.

Credibility is a transient thing - it's that old adage of 'only being as good as your last fight' aint it?

Give it 12 months and I'm sure the landscape will look different. If you bear in mind the Floyd fight was in the making a long time before it became public, then it puts into context why some things happen and some things don't.

HBO and GBP don't sign you up and 'just see what happens'...

Hatton groupies have been saying that for years. What are they waiting for? Keep in mind Witter is 33. How much older do they want him to get? Is Hatton that oppressed with fighting shot fighters?

In all his career Ricky has never looked good against Southpaws, and Junior is one awkard Southpaw. Its not worth the risk.

Witter's age isn't an issue. He's had fewer fights than Hatton and has fought far fewer tough rounds, both because of a lower level of opposition and his style of fighting.

Hatton is probably nearer the end of the line than Junior, older in boxing years so to speak, and that's why I'd like to see the fight happen sooner rather than later.

As for Hatton being 'scared' of Witter, it's just an imbecilic comment in light of his record. To hear the way some people talk about Witter you'd think he was a latter-day Aaron Pryor.

Thats a silly argument. Witter already said he'd take a small % of the purse, and the fight would also make Ricky way more money than fighting Lazcano.

Also if i hate someone i generally wanna punch them and shut them up. Ricky would have the chance to do so if he fought Witter.

If Ricky is so confident, destroy Junior then he wont be heard of again.

Yup. Hatton is afraid of losing. Witter has been calling out Hatton and the more excuses he gives, the more of a punk he is.

And Witter has beaten Vivian Harris. Based his career on name calling another fighter and been in countless shit fights.
He knocks out 1 faded former champion and people start wetting themselves.

Witter vs Hatton will probably happen but Ricky has been trying to fry bigger fish. Hatton doesn't owe Witter a big paycheck.

Really can't see why everyone is suddenly a fanboy of Witter.

U miss the point. Witter may not have the greatest resume, but he has the second best one at 140 at the moment.
If Hatton is the king at 140 prove it by beating the second best fighter in the division. Witter said he'd take a small cut of the purse so potentially he wont make a huge sum.
Why should Hatton make huge dollars fighting washed up guys? Thats worse to me.
