The thing is i dont think Ricky should be scared of Witter. I believe he'd win. I just hate the stupid excuses he makes for avoiding the fight.
I dont mind him fighting Lazcano cos he probably needs a confidence builder.
The danger for Ricky is that with his high paced rugged style he could be shot very quickly. On the other hand Witter's style is probably gonna allow him to have a longer career. Hatton dont want to leave the Witter fight too long and risk losing

Stupid excuses for avoiding the fight? Very strange.

How about "Junior I can't fight you now I'm in the States fighting the recognised P4P No.1 Floyd Mayweather". Terrible excuse but not in Eagle's World so it would seem.

Maybe Hatton doesn't want to fight in the Doncaster Dome especially after fighting in the US.

How is fighting PBF still an excuse now? He is fighting shot Lazcano.
Hattons excuse is that he dont wanna fight Witter cos he doesnt wanna give him a big payday.
Yet he also says he wants to confirm himself as the number 1 140 fighter on the planet.
What better way to do that than fight the second best 140 fighter in the world Junior Witter. Whats so stupid about that? The longer Ricky leaves it the more likely he will lose IMO.
Fighting Witter in an all britain affair would make Ricky good money.
    Owned by you? Hardly.

It is like the Mayweather v Cotto fight. It will happen but not until next year 2009.

In my Heart of Hearts I agree... But again most, especially disgruntled Hatton fans as well as the legions of Floyd haters relentlessly call Floyd a ducker for not fighting Cotto tomorrow, so this is my mature an adult way to stick it up their ass

But I agree its real simple, match Hatton with a fringe contender that can be passed off as a half assed threat. Ricky blows him out of their. Meanwhile Witter is on the rise and will more than likely beat his guy. Now you have buzz and anticipation for a mega fight in Manchester.

Though I will say the guy that Hatton is fighting while not fighting Witter is total shit. The guy Floyd is fighting while supposedly ducking Cotto is 20x the threat

Hatton + GBP + HBO = any fight Ricky wants, when he wants...as long as all parties agree.

There's more than one agenda at work here and anyone that can't see that doesn't understand Boxing. There's a strategy to this. As interested parties, you don't go into 8 figure deals without a plan...

...and it's pretty clear Junior doesn't figure that highly on anyones list, for varying reasons, at least for the time being.

Why's everyone sucking Junior Witter's dick all of a sudden?

Where was all the love when he almost lost to Colin Lynes and Andreas Kotelnik? Hell only the knockdowns stopped him from losing to N'dou.

I can't believe beating Vivian Harris can create so much hype. Vivian 'I must have been drugged' Harris!

If beating Vivian Harris is all you need to do to become the most feared man at 140, i might have a go myself.

There's no way in hell he'll retire without fighting Witter. Donny made all the points i was going to make so i don't need to go over old ground.

I just can't believe how much love Junior Witter is getting. It's sick
