I feel your pain brother, I was training for 6 months nonstop until the dreaded man flu got me in the beginning of February.
I've had my first two proper workouts this weekend, almost 8 weeks out.
I hate fucking man flu, girls are so lucky they only get the normal strain of virus......
Did you end up going Donny? I sometimes struggle with the same Q. Problem is not feeling like training just because you've had some time off and are getting used to being lazy and not feeling like training because you're sick and you shouldn't train - both feel exactly the same way!
I usually go with a light alternative to normal training. It allows me to get back into it properly with the next session if I'm just in mental lazy mode. It sort of helps make it not feel like a big/daunting thing to train again.
If I'm sick it confirms that because I don't feel good after starting and the don't want to train feeling continues but because it's light I don't usually do any damage.
What's this training camp you're organizing? Details? Not that I'm the type to copy your training ideas occasionally or anything ..........
Bilbo guys do not get the flu worse than girls! It's just guys have just got together to decide it's a gender thing so they can expect heaps of pity when they're ill but but give us less when we expect pity for being ill too!![]()

Go for it mate.
Ha Ha yeah the "man" flu is a horrible dose!
I was out 4-5 weeks (I tried go back training but wasn't able, kept puking when I tried to run and the one time I tried to spar I got this cold sweat and I thought I was dieing!)
Back now though
No I didn't go on Friday, I wanted to desperately, but I just felt so miserable and tired I couldn't.
But I made a plan, I went out Friday night (Not drinking of course but out nonetheless) I had a big bag of chips and a curry though.
This made me feel sufficiently guilty to get up on Saturday and hit the gym for three hours. To my delight, a good friend was there (a mma guy) and we trained together, so with my motivation and a little competition I was training really hard!
I understand what you mean about "getting used to being lazy" It's so easy to just lay about and do nothing! For me I need to have a big session to get me back into it. If I do a light session I stay at light so generally I just get motivated and steam into it. It's amazing how guilty I feel after a bag of chips! It's my only one in over a year buit I still felt terrible
For the training camp I've got 5 guys with different goals.
In the camp we've got
me; 71kg, with a target of a couplet of national titles and a few international bouts.
Jimmy; 84kg, with a target of dropping to under 81kg and going for his first national title.
Pat; 81kg, with a target of dropping to 75kg and having his first pro fight in mma and going for the nationals.
Joey; 85kg, target of dropping under 83kg and going for his first national title.
The fifth guy is actually interchangable. I know that sounds weird, but theres a group of four guys who want to train with us but only occasionally so we'll avail of their services whenever possible.
The idea will be to get our techniques and fitness ready for next season, with my aim being to have a fight every fortnight, with a break at Christmas.
Finalising the regime now, but I think it'll be a big summer ahead of a big year.

It's ok to train when a little unwell. Just take it easy. Your body will appreciate the routine and you will benefit. If your next opponent rests when he's a bit unwell you have something on him.

I attempted training when I was sick.
Didn't do me any good, just lots of blood from places blood shouldn't have been coming from and even more vomit.
Better now though and getting back in form.
