Are Shane and Oscar the same fighters they were 5-10 years ago...of course not. But that being said...i had the Shane vs. Cotto fight a draw. So despite the fact that he no longer has the great speed of his youth...the fact that he nearly beat a younger champ at this point of his career, is a testament to his great heart and ability. I don't see Shane being a dominant force anymore...but going by his last fight against Cotto...i don't see how anyone can say he no longer can compete in big fights. Is it smart for fighters to keep fighting past their prime...probably not. But i don't see Shane embarrassing himself in the near future.
Well its like this PBF is the top guy so when he does somthing it is ripped apart and him not competing with the top welters is not helping him. But things willl change he will face Cotto and we while know whos the best.
Sorry ICB... Everyone knows I'm not a big Cotto fan but here goes!
Younger Shane Mosley vs Miguel Cotto = Mosley still doesn't use his jab enough... Cotto the same way
ODLH vs Miguel Cotto = ODLH by UD
Jose Luis Lopez vs Miguel Cotto = Lopez by TKO
Ike Quartey vs Miguel Cotto = Ike was good but... C'mon. Don't see it
Pernell Whitaker vs Miguel Cotto = Whitaker by UD
Felix Trinidad vs Miguel Cotto = Tito by KO
Sorry. Just needed to fix some errors![]()

Quartey had the better jab but Cotto's is nice, not to be underestimated at all. That and Ike was always a bit open for left hooks. I'd go with Cotto there. The others are tough ones. I think he could beat Lopez but he'd probably have to get off the mat and if anybody was getting stopped its probably Cotto.

It was a close fight but the rounds wern't really that hard to score IMO, Quartey busted ODLH up with the jab but i will give credit to ODLH. He come out for the 12th knowing he needed to do something dramatic and he did. Even though i thought Quartey won i had no problem with ODLH winning that fight based on his last round effort. Although the scoring was way off, if i remember right one judge had it so wide for ODLH that he didn't even need to score a KD in the last round that was a disgrace IMO. I think its pretty much impossible to have ODLH ahead in that right after 11 rounds without seriously biased scoring.
I think Cotto could beat Ike and Lopez, they were good fighters but not great like the others.
They didn't achieve greatness but they were still both very good fighters, Quartey had an amazing jab and excellent power. And Lopez was an excellent brawler with an iron chin. I don't believe Lopez ever tasted the canvas, right now i can see both of them beating Cotto clearly IMO.
Truth is at this stage Cotto had a bit harder time with Mosley then he should have....Was it a really good night for Shane or bad night for Cotto?...Not sure and would not make judgement until I see both fight again....It was obvious that the Shane of 3 or 4 years ago would have made an easy night of Cotto....Not dis-crediting Cotto because I like him as a fighter....I even said that it is unfair to judge him against elite of the 90's because he has not peaked yet...and in truth DLH, Mosley, Pernell are all on the top 50 ATG list P4P....Not really being fair to Cotto
