If it had hit the wall his brain would have hit the front of his skull when you hit him, then the back when it hit the wall and the front again after bouncing of the back of his skull. That can be dangerous. Otherwise you look good and yes like you said in my post similar to our guy shannon. Look forward to more videos from you.
Yeah it's risky training without headgear, let alone in a squash court.
But he's hardcore that guy. He's having his mma debut in summer and he'll fight anywhere anytime anyplace.
As for me I love boxing and jump at the opportunity to get sharp, squash court floors are a big help.
We used to train in a concrete handball alley before, very hard on the legs.
Headgear wont help if you hit the back of your head on a concrete wall. There's no padding on the back of headgear. Wow concrete floors, geez i got a stress fracture in my foot from skipping too much on solid floors last year, but not concrete. Sparring when up and down on the toes on concrete, that's tough. You are looking good hitmandonny keep it up.

I've been complimented oin that vid, but I think it's just people being nice, wait til you see me sharp!

I also had a stress fracture last year, thats why we always go for timber floors now, I use to train in the basement of my old house, such a brilliant little gym, but the concrete floors would kill me now.

Keep an eye on this thread, I'll get pat to throw up some more vids!

Yeah you can tell from your description of the talk you guys had before sparring what you wanted to practice so don't feel as though it doesn't show what you've got to offer. You move well, keep your hands up, jab well and have good range. Don't blame you for keeping your distance he looks pretty strong.

    I'll tell you he's strong!

As regards punch power I'm cool, I'm more than happy with my chin, so we've got no problems boxing, but I was on the mat with him last week! All I can say is wow, his power on the ground is amazing! I know he's obviously a far better wrest;ler and jiu jitsu guy than me, but still his strength was pretty awesome.

That's always the way. You can tell in your squash court vid that if you jabbed to the head and maybe doubled up on the jab with that right of yours behind it he's saying the same about your boxing. He's square on as we've mentioned and hands are low and does not move like a boxer, he'd be easy for a guy like you to hit.

rue enough, he's a great help though and when preparing for southpaws he's great as his power forces me to move when I tell him to throw bricks. I think you can never really practise moving aginst a southpaw too much.

Good point. Not too many southpaws to spar against. Any experience is good experience.

only viewed the 1st vid so far.

mma guy is flat footed, leans back from punches rather than blocking/slipping or using footwork.
MT guy gives up his height too easily, he ducks down to meet mma.

both pull back straight from attacks, need to use the pivot.

Are these guys fairly new to boxing?

2nd vid. He looks a strong fella.

Only thing I've read, I'd be aware of over comitting your slips to the right, might not be a big deal right now but I was watching for it and I'm sure (down the line) if it's a habit that sticks pros will be looking to unload there. Maybe tell your sparring partner to look to tag you for it

Also if someone backs off in straight lines, try broken rhythm footwork,
take a regular step, shorter back step, then longer front step.

Essentially the same way that you can vary the speed of punches (keep them regular so they expect them and react to them the same then Boom whizz one straight through).
