Yeah mate, I feel like that sometimes. Just crave a bit of peace and quiet. Silence is golden.

IN Penang you wake up each morning early with some Muslim man yelling into a megaphone all islamic stuff calling you to the mosk.
BallllAAAAAHhh bah blaHHH arch blahhhahhhh for ages! Theres no windows just bars over spaces and you hear Aussie voices from hotel rooms yelling back "shut the fuck up".
I woke to that early one morning and then went down the street and eventually got arrested for suspicion of herion trafficing.
Malasia sucks too.
One night I was lying in bed. It was one of those nights you need sleep. You've had a hard day and your about to have a perfect rest.
I was dozing, just falling asleep with a smile on my face and I hear this terrible noise.
mweeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhwwweeaahhhh.
My eyes blink open...
I start to doze off again...
MWEEEAAAAAAAWWWWEAAAAAAAHHHHH.
I rose from my bed, bounded down the stairs, grabbed the sweeping brush and flung the door open in a rage...
Cats don't come near my house anymore.

Last year we had some noisy neighbors and they were making a racket outside our apartment at about 2am. I tend to get irate quite easily and so opened the door and not so politely asked them to shut the fuck up with their shenanigans. I had a bit of a rant actually. I tend to argue my case in English despite nobody ever being able to speak English. The couple quickly went into their home obviously not wanting to deal with the loony foreigner.
I felt a bit bad about having dealt with it so rudely and the next day asked the wife to apologise on my behalf for not having been a bit more polite. The woman explained that they had been frightened because they suspected I was American and may very well have had a gun!!
When I heard that I had a good chuckle. I dont think they had had much interaction with foreign types!
I dont mind people trying to sell onions or canvas voters but there should always be a respect for the people who are trying live a quiet life. The onion sellers arent so bad because they do tend to go away after a few minutes. But these electioneering nutters just keep at for an hour or more. And in the middle of the day. Most people are at work anyways.
I have a lot of difficult reading to get through. I might try and shove a screwdriver into my ears to stop them working.![]()

Ha Ha funny that is!
I like you, went abroad assuming everyone would understand me. I was wroing big time.
I ended up having to explain my expressions, accent and coloquialisms even to English speakers!
Dead right, it's just on my Friday nights I can't stand excessive noise. It's my rest and recovery night and I simply detest when it's interrupted.

Yeah, you have to adapt the language you use a lot in a foreign land. A lot of idiomatic expressions just go over most heads. Heck, even basic greetings go over a lot of heads where I am!!![]()
