FIrst of all people are saying stuff that isn't that important.
    1) Roy isn't as athletic as he used to be: He's made changed his style so that, his lose in reflexes isn't a factor anymore. Regardless he is still a way better athlete than Joe is
    2) Roy doesn't have power anymore, he still hits harder than Joe.
    3) Roy's hasn't been the same since being knocked out: ROy has come closer and closer to looking like the man who beat Tarver the first fight, sure that wasn't the best Roy ever, but thats good enough to have a chance against Calzaghe.
    4) WHo else is there for Calzaghe to beat in order for him to get recognition? Except Dawson who will likely dominate the LHW in the years to come there is nobody worth mentioning in 5 years thats still fighting.

WHat I see as a factor is that
Roy can't move, and Calzaghe punches in bunches, but that being said Calzaghe also boxes so in those moments ROy will be the superior figher which makes it interesting, along with the fact Calzaghe has no defense and Roy throws more punches than Hopkins with the same kind of timing but more speed.

Kelly Pavlik is my pick, it would be a bigger and easier fight for Joe in my opinion

6 years ago, Jones beats Calzaghe. Now, Jones almost definately loses on points. But, since Joe beat BHOP, Roy might just try for a KO, unlikely I know, but if Roy was to beat Joe, he would have a great deal of redemption, and would be right back in the middle, IMO. Wishful thinking, I'm picking Roy by KO.

It seems like alot of people think Pavlik would be an easy fight for Joe, it won't be.

Dude, Pavlik is big and he hits hard BUT he's open to counters and his hands are slower than Joe's. I think Calzaghe being quick, being a good counter puncher, and being a southpaw would really screw with Pavlik who's only big test has been vs Jermain Taylor....sure he fought Edison Miranda but Miranda has proven to be a bigger headcase than a good fighter.

I think Joe's style of fighting would benefit from Pavlik's style of fighting but I can't see Pavlik benefitting from the way Joe fights....I think he could psyche out Pavlik and mess him up big time....Pavlik IMO is like a blend of Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler (sure he's a better fighter and more effective but he's similar to both of them, with speed, power, and defense) and Joe handled them with ease

I just think Pavlik is better than Lacy and Kessler, I'm not saying Joe couldn't beat him, it would just be tougher. After almost getting KOd by Taylor, I think Pavlik is better mentally than Lacy or Kessler. He perservered, and kod Jermain. I can't see him getting punked by Joe. And IMO, if Pavlik was losing, he would do more, or go for broke, where those other guys didn't.

He was able to recover because JT does not fight consistently for 12 rounds, he tires out, he loads up to much on his right cross and his defense allows a fighter to come close to him and do damage.

Joe is a veteran fighter he's consistent and he plays in the ring even after he's been knocked down....it's very disheartening to be losing a fight and have your opponent showboat and gloat infront of you and honestly I doubt Pavlik will take kindly to that, he tried to do that back and forth with JT and got floored...which shows you he's psychologically weak.

You can be a bad ass and be psychologically weak see Prime Mike Tyson and George Foreman...those guys were psychologically weak but no one was able to break them except the very best...Joe is right now the very best and he can beat Pavlik, he can beat him up too

Lyle, i give it to you on the styles, but I don't think he is weak mentally (good call on tyson and foreman), maybe inexperienced, but where Tyson was an animal, until you broke him, i just don't see Pavlik being that way, especially since he did come back and win against Taylor. also agreed that Taylor could have won that first fight, if he was smarter. Joe is more seasoned, and is a smart fighter, with more experience. Pavlik just seems like a demon though, where not too much deters him, which would play into Joe's gameplan. But, if Pavlik jab is working, could be rough.

I just don't think it would be like Lacy. Man, that was a beat down.

Oh yea, did I mention I'm from Ohio, just like Pavlik, lol

    Agreed again.

Although i dont know if pavlik is a better fighter than kessler. Id say that kessler vs pavlik would be a v interesting fight, i couldt predict who would win.

What youve said about styles is correct in my opinion, joe will find the range to counter kelly at, he will confuse kelly and catch him with combos, he will tie him up with in fighting aswell like he did with lacy.

Although pavlik is one of my fav fighters i cant see him beating joe. Id like to see pavlik fight abrahams first because it would be nice to see pavlik win the undisputed title to his name aswell. If he beats abrahams and i think he will then it gives him even more cred when coming into face calzaghe, perhaps more experience aswell, experience against abrahams could be vital when fighting someone like calzaghe.

    You really hate joe.

You will hate joe even after he beats jones and beats pavlik. It must really annoy you that this is gonna happen.

So by your summation jones will beat calzaghe...you write that hes more powerful than joe, faster and at times a superior fighter...once again youll be proven wrong.

I feel sorry for your opinion, the hatred shines through so much in your posts, its anything to make out calzaghe isnt the real deal. So much hate for joe
