Does anyone actually know what Forbes is making for this fight though?? I remember when it was announced that Oscar would fight on regular HBO in May, before an opponent was set; Richard Shaefer specifically said that his opponent should not expect to get the regular purse one would expect to fight Oscar. Wonder if Forbes really will get a big payday.

I would think that, whatever he's making, it is probably the biggest purse of his career. I think I remember during the Contender finale when he fought Brewer the commentator mentioning that win or lose he was going to get his biggest purse ever.

i am sure it will be enough for him to feel that he can live comfortably for quite some time. It may not be a multimillion dollar purse ,but I am sure it wont be peanuts either.

Trust me, a normal, everyday Joe Smith would never need to work again with what Forbes will be getting. I personally think he deserves it 100% because he is going to get the shit beaten out of him.

the guy is 31 and about to get the biggest pay off of his life, doesnt have that great a record inside the ring and will also gain his 15minutes of fame by fighting ODLH

There are many similar fighters out there who went their whole careers without getting anything like this, nothing to feel sorry about here!!

Good post. He wasn't forced to fight Oscar at gunpoint, it's a once in a lifetime opportuniy for him, hope he makes a go of it.
