You do it occasionally in some sleep modes but dont realize it.
To actually go somewhere you want is called bilocating and is achievable after doing a certain meditation for a while.
New agers call it astral travel.
The Kristna paractitioners have a way to go too I belive as do many other practitioners.
Its been around since day one but got slowly lost into strict practices and untouched ways ; Its been naturally blocked to others (personally)through our increasing earthly wants.
(I know I sound silly asking this but) is there a way to learn how to do this? I've heard of it being done via a miracle of God.

For example: A man goes to sleep and dreams his best friend (or any loved one) is in a burning house. His friend is trapped inside and cannot find the way out. The man is able to go inside, because strangely he is not effected by the flames and smoke. He calls out to his friend and motions for him to follow. He follows, and eventually leads him out to safety. Then, the man awakens from the dream.

The next day, he finds his friends house burned down, just like in the dream!! His friend gets in touch with him later on and says "Thanks for leading me out, you saved my life!". The mans says "What? I remember I dreamed you were in that burning house, I dreampt I led you out." Well the friend replies "You did lead me out"!!!

It is a specific activation as it says . It is taught by two main schools.
IF you hunt it down for yourself avoid contact with a man whos initials are DM, he unfortunatley now works from within the dark side.

Download the hypnosis track from Dizasters PUA thread on the filesharing board, never been so relaxed in my life. Don't know what they talk about, but it is really relaxing.

One winter's evening a year or more ago I arrived home from a particularily hard training session.
It was freezing outside and I went into my sitting room where the stove was producing heat that made it feel like a sauna!

I sat ionto one of the deep armchairs and sat for thirty minutes watching television.
I felt hungry and arose suddenly, but as I stood up I kept on rising, I felt like I was hitting the ceiling, I could see the room as If I was really high up and I was looking down.

As I looked down I saw a figure slumped on the floor in a weird position. The person was on their knees with their head on the floor and arms spread wide. As my eyes focused to see who it was I seemed to draw closer, until I throbbed back to reality.

I had stood up and driven myself head first into the solid Oak floor (on concrete.) I had cracked the floor and I was busted wide open bleeding onto the floor and couch,

I got to my feet and staggered to the kitchen where I tried to expolain to my family.

In the panic of fixing my head I forgot about the weird expierience.

hahahaha that is extremely funny apart from your head being split open, that would have been crazy! Did you panic at all (when you saw the body on the floor)?

Not panic as such, just a bit of concern and wonder and like I said I began to feel the pain as my vision drew me closer to the body I was looking at.

    Weird.
