he has impressed so far and hasnt really taken a back foot since becoming pro.
Was particularly impressed with his rematch against kindelan where he completely took apart a guy who not 12 months earlier had beaten him.
Agreed most of his opponents have been on the wrong side of their careers or decent british prospects that`ll never really make any headwaves.
But thats all about the learning process for khan. up until this fight i actually thought warren was doing a decent job with him.
But if they are deadly serious about making amir a world champion before the end of the year then surely they should of put him in against someone ranked slightly higher or within the top 10 who they knew was gonna give amir a real test.
Khan was knocked down and badly hurt by powder puff punching Willie Limond, Gomez is way past his prime but for 2-3 rounds he is very dangerous, he will come in swinging and if he lands Khan may be in big trouble, Gomez has a punchers chance of winning this one, but anyone ruling him out may be in for a surprise. Should Khan get through the first few rounds he should be in for an easy night.
I really hope Gomez can put up some form tough fight for Khan. I don't see any other result than a tko win for Khan, but I at least hope Gomez can catch Khan out a good few times and land some big shots on him, so we can see if he really can take shots, and it will make him better in the long run, working more on defence rather than being able to just overpower his opponents with his reach advantage.
This is all a big IF though. Lets hope Gomez can fight on for at least 6 rounds, giving Khan hell for at least 2 of them!
Paul Smith is on the underacrd but is fighting a bum.
LOOK out for Stephen Smith making his pro debut, Paul's younger brother. He is a top amateur and only just missed out on qualifying for the Olympics.
