2 mins of pushups without stopping? That is intense, you'd be doing like 150 pushups in that time period non stop :S I don't know if that even possible. Are you sure it's not 1 min?

But yeah like Donny has said just increase the time each week by 10 seconds starting from a low number (20) but do plenty of sets so that your doing over 2 mins of pushups, just not in a row. Or you could always do Tabata's 20 seconds of pushups, 10 seconds rest, repeat this 7 more times. Train hard mate.

Oh it's possible, but I doubt many if any would make it there unless they trained like a crazed trainaholic for it...like say, me.... Not sure what I could do now as I haven't done lots of push ups in a bit, but when I was doing them in big #'s...I did upper 90's in 1 min, and finished around 170 or so. But that was ridiculous and I wasn't mixing up routine so much at the time.

I'm guessing if it is true...they are talking about still holding yourself up after 2 mins, and not so much the numbers..prob. like 60-70.

It is true im not lying, thats what the tests are, you dont have to go for the whole 2 mins as many as you can do until you cant do anymore, and without any rest.

Oh I believe you, but I am saying that you must be able to pace yourself. For very few would be able to pull off over 1 per sec. non stop I don't think.

170 in a row? That is insane my peak was around 105 in a row, but then got complacent. Your doing full pushups here not just a little half bend? If thats the case mate you would have great endurance. Do you do many punch out drills?

I doubt I could do it now, in fact I wouldn't even really want to try.

I wasn't using a well-rounded training program at the time, and didn't have a home gym. Was just doing an insane amount of push ups every night. And yea, they were full.

That is impressive then! It's good that you've started diversifying your training though as that will always lead to better results.

Were you able to do one-handed pushups?

Sometimes (usually if I'm pissed about something), I can manage to do about 1 or 2, and only on my left (good) arm.
