Lets get this straight Calzaghe is not afraid of Kelly Pavlik, Jeff Lacy was just as hyped and a genuine 168lb fighter.

He is just being greedy.

True Lacy was overhyped, but Pavlik beating a top guy in Taylor twice and destroying everyone else he has met points to the fact he is more substance than hype.

We didnt know that about Lacy until 1minute into the Calzaghe fight.

Just cast your mind back Lacy was an animal and huge favorate.

I never bought into Lacy hype anyone who studied his career before the Calzaghe fight would of known he wasn't half what they was hyping him as, just check out his fights with Sheika, Vanderpool.

There are multiple quotes from Joe for the past year saying he would rather fight Pavlik than Jones. He was saying all along how a Pavlik fight would be a huge fight. He even said he would move down to 168 to do it.

I think his struggle with B-Hop and Kelly's absolute destruction of his stablemate, changed his mind. He knows Pavlik is on the rise still and very hungry. Pavlik simply chops guys down and cannot be discouraged in the ring. That is not a good scenario for a guy on 36 year old legs.

So many claim Pavlik is "One Dimensional". I personally see much much more than that. Nothing fancy, but brutally effective.
