I remember my mid teens fondly when it comes to the music I was getting into. I was discovering the Velvet Underground, Bowie and Scott Walker around that time. It was also the height of brit pop and I was into the more art end of those bands with my favourites being Suede, Pulp and even Belle and Sebastian. This is music that I come back to time and time again. Each of those Brit bands made exceptional B sides and quite a lot of them.

    ace of spades
that canadian chick that won eurovision for the UK
Care free lyrics that never really advanced the song but it didnt matter because they sounded good.

Yeah, an interesting time for UK music. I really love the first Oasis album. Blur were a fantastic singles band for me but did have some real gems on their albums too. "I should Coco" by Supergrass was also good. "Caught by the Fuzz" is brilliant. I also thought Sleeper came up with some decent tracks.

Love me some CCR. Senator's Son alwaystakes me back.

Heart, The Doors and The Carpenter's can get me in a reflective mood as well. Slayer and old Metallica take me back to my rowdy teen days

I really like their Making Movies album. It works really well as a cohesive piece. Some great tracks on there.

No doubt. Mark Knoephler is one of the least appreciated voices and guitar players of music.

Songs that take me back to my younger days...

Anything from Boyz II Men, Usher, Toni Braxton, Mariah, Brandy etc. etc.
2Pac, Biggie, Snoop, Dr. Dre, NWA, 2Short, Warren G, Cypress Hill etc. etc.

I grew up around the time R&B and Rap was hot in the late 80's early 90's.

Do you remember old friends by the songs that they listened to?

I just got my hands on a Pantera cd and rememeber a friend of mine that would love to crank up the volume full, bass blasting Pantera for the whole neighborhood to hear. By the time I got out of the truck and my skin stopped shaking I couldn't hear a damn thing.

ANyways I find myself connecting songs to different people. It's a memory trip, I get goose bumps when one of their songs come up.
If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
