That's good to hear. Can you tell us what you've been doing differently on the hook?
P.S. Has the term "improper hook" ever come to mind? Maybe something to think about when you accidentally nail someone in the balls.![]()

If you hear a voice within you saying that I am not a painter, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.
Donny i understand what your saying mate but im more of a counter puncher who works behind my jab, thats why i don't try and land Hooks or Uppercuts from the outside. The only real time i had to be aggressor was in my 3rd Amateur fight.

Catching them comming forwards can be even better, for force ,as it puts a different question in thier mind about what they did wrong as well as what you just got away with.
Your legs must be getting nice and flexable then, to be able to pull that off and continue moving safely? Do you go a touch low and then stay on the move throughout the process?
I liked the way Rjj used to go real low and counter with a reaching uppercut that could turn over as it rose into something like a "S" through the air ,like a rising cross appearing to follow an opponent who moved. I think he knew the target would go a certain way from experimenting with others reactions during sparring. I doubt he could interupt a fully committed shot and turn it into something else; but I suppose nothing is impossible for some if their feet legs and hips can be moving while something rare is thrown to back all of the movment up and still keep them out of reach.
Not really,its instinct.
When someones pushing you backwards your having a fight or flight reaction, and opting for fight to beat the guy off you.
Coming forward you can maintain distance, and dictate the action,so you can afford to be intellectual in picking a guy apart
