I dont think this will ever possibly happen. Pavlik needs to fight Rubio or Griffin hopefully in Cleveland. In that time hopefully something can be made with the two German's ( Strum , and Abraham). Then a unifactation. I see no one coming close to him at 160 and maybee one or two giving him problems at 168(Kessler and Calzaghe). I would however love to see Pavlik fight Andrade for his first 168. I just want to see Pavlik has more power than Kessler and accually put old iorn jaw to sleep.

Think this is just Williams keeping his name mentioned in the press, fair play to him if he's serious but don't think he'd stand much of a chance.

Anyways, this is nonsense would never happen and rightfully so. I see no way Williams could win. I think the first person to give Pavlik trouble is going to be the person who moves laterally on him. JT tried a little bit it just didn't come natural to him. Someone like Spinks maybe or one day Giovanni Lorenzo. But right now I simply don't think there is anybody who beats Kelly Pavlik at middleweight. It's a fairly weak division and it's my belief that Pavlik beats all comers. I look at the division and I literally can not find a single person that could possibly give him some trouble and make a bid for the upset.

Closest I came was Lorenzo who does a lot of side to side movement and makes you work inside on him to get the job done but he doesn't use the ring real well and traps himself in corners a lot, Pavlik would have a field day. Spinks is a tough fight for anybody and would definitely take some rounds from Pavlik imo but he gets consistently broken down over the second half of nearly half of every fight and he has a bad chin.

Until he moves to 168 or someone else comes along, my guess is Pavlik stays undefeated for a long time.
No mention of Arthur Abraham. H'm. I think he's the one guy out there who could give Pavlik a real headache at 160.

I was talking about it more in a stylistic sense. You can bridge a talent gap just by having a style that's wrong for someone. Abraham is definitely the second best fighter in the division but I'm not sure he's the nightmare style match up for Pavlik.

Sure he's hard to hit in that guard but he's also a spot fighter. Pavlik has been hit cleanly before by Edison Miranda over and over and was never any worse for wear, I would be very very surprised if he crumbled under Abraham's power. It's possible as anything is but I just don't see it happening.

And for Abraham, it's hard to win rounds against Pavlik. Pavlik fights for 3 minutes a round, Abraham picks and chooses a minute here, half a minute there and in the face of Pavlik's consistent pressure from Pavlik. Pavlik might have a hard time working around the guard of Abraham in the early going imo, but Abraham would need his power to bail him out if this happened and I think Pavlik is up for the test.

I have always thought that after The Quintana Rematch...win Or lose...That Williams should move up in weight.Has yet to happen but Should he square off against Pavlik I see him getting trounsed. His quality chin (And its hitability) would get shattered I believe.

He may be a succesful Jr. Middleweight but even there his physical advantages will be diminished

That's like that commercial with the guy who said he would go in with Holyfield and then Holyfield knocked his head off. I really don't think I would go in with Tyson that's not a lie.

Williams can take a great punch, but has somewhat shitty defensive reflexes and low guard. All of Williams physical advantages that he enjoys fighting welters would get washed away, while in with a guy who loves turning opponents into bobbleheads.

Williams will take on anyone, he is a brave guy, but I don't think Pavlik is a line he should cross at this point anyway. I mean hell, 2.5 mil is a lot, but he will probably get the same for fighting Cotto if Cotto beats Margarito. Williams' size advantage does give him at least a fair shake in that one.

No kidding. This is one of the oldest things in boxing.... calling out an opponent and naming a price that you know you're never going to get.

I remember when Roy Jones said he'd fight Lennox Lewis..... if they paid him $100 million.
That wasn't a serious offer. Roy knew there was no chance of him beating Lennox and said something insane and impossible to indicate how insane and impossible making that fight would be.

Where is someone with a spare $100 million when you need one though, right?

If only Bill Gates was a huge Roy/Lennox fan,,,, Roy woulda had to back up his ridiculous offer, and we woulda seen the equivelant of Spud Webb trying to dunk leaping left hooks onto Lennox's 8 foot high head.. (thanks ICB for the reference)

LOL! ANDDDD, it just goes to show/prove how gay it was winning a heavyweight belt off Ruiz... By then going on to say, now pay me $100 million and i'll fight the PROPER champ..! I see humour in this...

Anyway, Williams IS smoking something... If only all you need were arms and wacky hair,, he could step up to any weight he would like..
