Yep Penalosa has troubles with quick boxers (specially if they're running away from him) but Mares never been with a boxer in Penalosa's caliber. Penalosa is old but he was still very impressive in his last fight against the tough Sor Vorapin and even stopped/TKO'ed the guy.
This fight reminds me of Genaro Hernandez-Floyd Mayweather. Hernandez had never been dominated and had never lost at 130. Until he met Mayweather. Now Mares ain't no Mayweather. And Penalosa isn't the fighter Hernandez was. But it's the way I see the fight playing out. Mares retiring the old veteran.
Mares could be quick but I think Penalosa will find a way to catch him. I see one of Penalosa's combo catching the young kid. Penalosa will not be afraid in attacking Mares as he was not even afraid of power punching Daniel Ponce De Leon.
