When I read 'roller' for some reason I got thinking of foam rollers... which got me thinking, I've heard of people using those (and hardcore guys roll with PVC pipe or something) for legs and their backs and stuff, but it'd be pretty hard to use on stuff like wrists.

I made my wrist roller by drilling a hole in a piece of pvc pipe and then i stuck a rope through it.

Yea what I meant are these things that people use not as actual resistance, but it's like a massage for the muscles and soft tissue, they roll it over the area.

It's usually used for the legs since they've got a lot more portruding larger muscles. It'd probably be tough to do this on the forearm not only because you can't use 2 hands to guide it, but also because the muscle doesn't portrude as much. You have those 2 bones that crosover when you pronate/supinate and stuff.

I woke up at 5.30am this morning.

I couldn't feel my arm from my elbow down to my fingers.
I thought it had become numbe from the weight of my body lying on it, but then I trried to move the fingers and they wouldn't move. It tok quite a while to get the movement and feeling back.

I'm sick also at the moment, so this is scary.

It can lose mobility not just numbness if you sleep on it long enough. I somehow slept once with arm curled round the back of my head (like for a tricep stretch) and under my weight, I got up and my whole arm just flopped over with no feeling whatsoever. I often sleep on my arm and sometimes I wake up with it numb, but I can feel the blood flowing again evemtually so I don't think it's something to worry about.

I know the feeling its as if the hands and fingers have died in the night.
I had both arms from the elbows down each morning as I awoke (they woke me actually) for a couple of months. I think I figured it was either low blood pressure or not enough liquids as I was waking with a dry mouth. I had leg cramps back then too. So bananas, water with a pinch of sea salt, iron food, followed immediatley by an orange juice. I also dropped an asprin to see if blood thining helped.
    Something did ,its gone.

I drink big volumes of water during the day and always bring a pint and a half with me to bed.
Yet I always wake with a dry mouth.
So dry in fact, when I left bed this morning I gave my girlfriend a kiss, my lips were rock hard and my throat like a dry cement mixer.

I've heard of water with a pinch of sea salt before.
Reputed to be a fantastic way of replenishing electrolytes after training.

Happens to me quite often although I quite like the sensation like an out of body experience with your hand. Just so numb and cold, can't be good for it but you can wave it round and not feel a thing.

    It really was scary.

I hit myself in the face with it and it felt like a dead fish flopping against my forehead.
I then got a little panicked trying to "revive" it.
I just massaged it from the elbow down trying to get plenty of fresh blood in to no avail.

Of course it came back, probably because I got up and walked around, thus increasing blood circulation.

Oh I know what you mean, the first time it happened to me I was shitting myself. Best way to get the feeling back is to shake it in a circular motion (ie raise your arm up and then bring it down quickly), it'll kick start the circulation there.
