Are people honestly counting Hopkins out?

IMO Hopkins should be the favorite here. He, IMO, beat Calzaghe in a close fight because he landed the cleaner more accurate punches, and compubox poorly illustrated the real facts ofhow many punches Calzaghe was landing. Secondly when has Pavlik ever been in there with somebody who has the ability to move around, Sure Pavlik is a good fighter when you are right there to be hit, but nobody looks good against Hopkins, I thought Wright would be able to, to a degree, but he lost a close fight, I thoguht Calzaghe would be able to, but he lost a close fight(IMO). The only two guys p4p in the past 15 years that I would say were clearly better than Hopkins are Mayweather and RJJ. Besides that I have him up there with Whitaker and the rest of them. Hopkins finds ways to win, Calzaghe is as busy if not busier than Pavlik, he's a lot faster, and he is a better boxer. Yet against Hopkins he looked like an amateur who won for the simple fact people don't understand that clean punching wins rounds more than anything else.
Also don't forget the one "Universal" fact nobody looks good against B-Hop

Hopkins aim was to spoil, Joe was the one making the fight and Hopkins pathetic low blow claims and play acting all went againsed him, Joe won an awkward fight. Any judge favouring a cheat and a spoiler in a close fight needs a slap.

I agree with what you said about Pavlik, I don't think he has the experience to adapt to all the spoiling Hopkins is gonna depend on to win.

Stop humping Joe's leg, Hopkins made Joe look horrible.

I still don't see everyone argument, people claimed that Calzaghe, Wright, Taylor would all do out work Hopkins, but he stop every one of them from producing an effective offense, Technically Pavlik isn't on any of their levels except Taylor, and I don't how Pavlik will be able to do anything different than these guys, He doesn't bring anything new to the table except punching power, but you can't hurt what you can't hit.

I'm agreeing with you more then you think. I by no means think Taylor is going to look good and I expect a fight just like the one with Wright, Taylor and Calzaghe, with it being very close. And again, I thought Hopkins beat Calzaghe too. I just think that due to his workrate and great stamina that he'll be able to edge a very close decision like the others did. That's not counting Hopkins out, and I think it's foolish of people to slam this fight. There is literally no one better for Pavlik to face right now.
