Didn't see the Omar Sheika fight but i did see the Rubin Williams fight and he did show his class in that fight i still think he can do it for some strange reason but i just don't think he hasn't gotten over his embarrassing loss to Joe Calzaghe and i think alot of Jeff Lacy's bad form is based on him not believing in himself anymore and not having confidence and those injuries haven't helped either...........................

But if Jeff Lacy can show some of his old form this could be a good fight because Jeff Lacy is a good pressure fighter at his best and he has a solid chin and if he can get Jermain Taylor into the later rounds where Jermain Taylor has faded in the past we could see an upset but the question is will Jeff Lacy show his old form ? i think he could do because this is the first elite fighter he has fought since the Joe Calzaghe fight and that may make him more up for this fight and the money will for certain motivate him but we will have to wait and see.
Thought you had the Calzaghe career set?

Sorry.. I keep reading your posts and confusing you with someone else
I don't know why Joe Calzaghe has been brought into this you asked me if i had seen Jeff Lacy against those fighters.......

But i haven't got Joe Calzaghe's fights i think he is a great fighter but i could never get into his style.....

But he has been great for the sport and you have to admire that whether you like his style or not his record speaks for itself.

I think Jermain Taylor is more talented if he had the stamina he would be very tough to beat.
Yeah maybe Taylor is more talented.

No I don't think so because I've seen Lacy fight Mendoza, Manfredo and Tsypko. Nothing impressive in those fights, I give him a pass against Tsypko cause of the injury, but has looked really bad lately (last few years). He mind is scrambled and instead of taking a knee to avoid Mendoza he tackled him. Lacy is gonna get slaughtered against Taylor.

I love both these fighters and don't want to see the two of them fight. At the same time Jeff is done. He looked terrible in his last fight. When he fight Taylor come November he will look even worst! He is going to get his ass kicked!!!

Taylor SHOULD have an easy nights work but he's in the habbit of fighting down to his opponents level.

    I do.

Why would we want to see their names mentioned with Pavlik ? Taylor fought him twice and lost x2, Lacy isnt ready for him yet..

It should be a decent fight to watch, but Taylor will comfortably outowrk him in the end, perhaps even a late stoppage.

Personally I would much prefered Froch given his chance to show if he can hang with the upper echilon of the sports fighters.

On the other this is a good name fight and it makes me interested just by looking at the names...Fan friendly i suppose you could say.

As far as competitiveness goes....I think Jermain will try to impress and go for the ko..If that wont work he will just stick and move for the UD..

Can't see any way Lacy gets anywhere near Jermaine.

It's easy to look good against a guy like Williams who has never beaten a quality fighter. Sorry to sound like Teddy Atlas, but everytime that guy stepped up, he lost. By the time Lacy fought Sheika, he had his ass handed to him by Joe C and Thomas Tate, and he lost two wars with Scotty Pemberton. Robin Reid was shot by the time they faced. Jeff Lacy has never dominated a quality fighter in his prime. He didn't even dominate Manfredo.

Some this his was because of injury and some of it was being overmatched with Calzaghe when he has fought nothing but a bunch of club fighters and shot old men. At one point, he had plenty of potential, but I don't see him coming back from the injuries at age 30 to be a better fighter than he was before. Too bad. I like Lacy and think he's a good guy, but it is what it is.

If JT keeps his hands up and works behind his jab, he'll make easy work of Jeff with a UD.

Froch just needs patience, if he gets the title the big names will eventually follow. I'd rather see Taylor fight a better opponent, yet Lacy is decent considering this is Taylor's comeback.

I like Lacy but after seeing his last few fights I cant really seeing him trouble Taylor much. If he turns up with anything like a percentage of what he had pre-calzaghe though (when he did used to look awesome) he will.

Lacy is all too willing but if Mendoza is catching you with jabs, than Taylors jab and right will do a number on sliding Lacy. The level of overall experience alone just spells IMO, a bad ending For Lacy now.

This fight I will bet the ranch on, Judging by Lacy last few fights.............I'm taking Taylor by Mid Tko, Taylor will not let him off the hook like Mendoza did.

I predictedthis fight would happen. I remeber afew years ago I thought it would be a superfight between rival world champs. As ot is they are meeting but its a last chance saloon fight

Jermain clearly has more natural talent but he has off nights juts like Jeff . On the face of it im leaning towards a Taylor UD but I think it will be interesting
