Bilbo has totally nailed it

There's a difference between "thinking outside the box" and being a "crazy conspiracy theorist"
Oscar, understandably (well, to me), wants his final fight to be MASSIVE and a WINNABLE one. With no Mayweather rematch, Hatton turning the fight down and Cotto losing to Margarito - who does that leave? He needs a STAR opposite him..
Manny Pacquiao!
What better way for the multi-gazillionaire, Oscar De La Hoya, to leave boxing than go having dethroned the current P4P No.1. The guy that beat Morales, Barrera and JMM - "The Mexicutioner"!!! (that alone gives him a serious incentive to win.. and it's a good selling point to boot
)
As for Pac - he can't lose. He makes a once in a lifetime payday and should he lose the actual contest - he was simply too small. He will move backdown for MASSIVE fights with Hatton and the like.
Yes, boxing is all about MONEY!!! But that naturally comes with HUGE event fights like this, without any bullshit underhand motives necessary.
