"A lot of people" do me a favour did you even watch the fight?
Joe won convincingly in most peoples eyes and even the American pundits had him a clear winner,Hopkins held and made it ugly simply because he couldn't deal with him and i admit Joe struggled for a while to adapt to his shitty style but came through with ease in the latter rounds
As for Pavlik...him being a white man has put silly amounts of pressure on him and the US are crying out for the "great white hope" which is understandable as for years and years it's been blacks and latinos, mexicans who have dominated the sport in the States.
i don't see anyway kelly can win at all,Joe's to skilled a fighter, definately has a better chin and can adapt to styles brilliantly during a fight, his fitness levels are superhuman,oh and he's a southpaw who can box on the back foot beutifully and pick you apart or mix it inside and hit you so often you'd think you were surrounded.
I like Pavlik and he's exciting but he just comes in straight lines with no lateral movement and little head movement which is tailor made for the legend that is Calzaghe.
if i thought Kelly had even a punchers chance then i'd stand up and say but Joe's been in with harder hitters and it's not that Pavlik won't win but more a case of he Can't win.

I fully expect this fight to happen too and would be pissed off with JC if he never took the challenge.
Joe will give him a boxing lesson and make it look easy.
Obviously you claimed to have watched the fight. Answer me this one question. It's pretty fukking simple. I don't want it going over your head. Except for the low blow late in the fight, name me one punch Calzaghe landed in the whole fight that was worthwhile. Or noticeable? Seriously let me know. What round?

He landed nothing significant. He slapped the whole night and couldn't even land cleanly. He got dropped in one round. And hurt in another one. Yet you think he won. I have no doubt in my mind that if Calzaghe was Mexican or from Africa you would be crying that Hopkins was robbed. But he's from the UK. And instead of just being Joe Calzaghe. He's the legend Joe Calzaghe. But that's understandable. If Frank Bruno is considered a legend . Why not Joe?
You're not fooling me Demise. It's obvious you're a secret Calzaghe fan.

I never even knew he BLAMED Watson for his performance against Malinga and Close. What EXACTLY did he say?

One of the biggest criticisms against Eubank was he fought to the level of his opposition. So, it's hardly surprising he didn't look impressive against guys he should thrash
If you followed Eubank career like you said you have you would know that all that Watson talk only came about after his gift wins. He needed something to blame them on
    OK.

"They claimed, of course, that many of my opponents had done enough to win. They claimed I couldn't knockout my opponents or cause stoppages. Yet they hadn't nearly a killed a man in the ring."

Did he feel that way after he robbed Malinga? Or stopped Jarvis? Nope. That lame ass excuse came out years later.

Here we go again with Taylor hurting Pavlik...Taylor didn't land a lucky punch or a glancing blow, he hit Pavlik with FLUSH POWER SHOTS. Anyone who survived that should be respected. Anyone who lands that many flush shots in a row will put someone down.

    FACT
NO WAY Joe's SLAPS match up to Kelly's PUNCHES. NO WAY is Joe rearranging Pavlik's face, he doesn't hit hard enough. I'll give you Calzaghe may have an advantage if you go skill by skill, but no way is it a landslide...

Of course. Never once claimed I wasn't. But fan or not, Violent D calls it like it is. Unlike some of the other bias, unrealistic fans here, Violent D will issue criticism when it needs to be issued. No matter if the fighter is a personal favorite or not. Cuz that's just the type of person Violent D is.

    Thanks, that proves my point

He was obviously, and understandably, concerned for his opponents welfare whilst fighting the contest.

Thulani Malinga also should have 2 wins over Nigel Benn, and he beat Robin Reid when he was 40+. But when he met Jones he got battered from pillar to post.

Bernard Hopkins bangs harder at Light Heavyweight than Jermain Taylor at Middleweight P4P ? i don't think so somehow.

It's like the girl in school that's always slagging off the boy she really fancies. Every time I see you criticise Calzaghe it's just more confirmation of how you really feel about him. It's good to see you caring so passionately about a British fighter.

I saw you using Taylor who isn't known to be a hard puncher as an example of the type of fighter that could hurt Pavlik. I was expressing how if any fighter landed those kind of punches regardless of one's chin, they would be hurt by it.

If that's not what you meant by using the Taylor example, I apologize.

At a guess i'd say his 13 year and 45-0 record cements him as a legend (Just like your countryman Jones says too)
Not to far behind the great Joe louis is he?
Bruno is far from a legend (who told you that) and certainly not a legend in my book or any other UK fight fan i know, simply a decent man with no chip on his shoulder (read his book it may make you a better person) and loved by the public.
As for the Popkins win why ask me as to why Joes "slaps" win him fight after fight after fight after fight and give him the best record of our era BAR NONE.
I know (as did the US,UK and any other countries pundits who watched it) that he won and i think you do too, oproblem is you can't accept that a UK fighter is that good and it kills you, even drives you crazy.."it's not fair the UK has a boxing legend and i don't like it"
These same slaps destroyed the all new mini Tyson (Lacy) and left him needing a good few stitches and let's be honest here he looked like he'd had a bus hit him by the 12th.
then we have the Great dane Kessler who (again) was supposed to smash Joe to bits...Again Joe dominated him from round 6 onwards, adapted like a legend does and ran away with the belts....
Not bad work for a "slapper" really but why don't you do something creative instead of chatting sh*t about British fighters and do something worthwile for once and contact (via email) the various sanctioning bodies and ask them straight up why they consitently score these slaps in every fight.?
Do you think it's a conspiracy or something?
Is Joe paying off HBO or the judges?
Could it be a master plan of White America helping to use Joe as a tool to beat Louis record in an act of racism
I hope you do contact them Denise and then we can all get to the bottom of this subject that angers you so much.
Your a little boy with a huge chip on his shoulder ...i used to think the world owed me something (nearly..V nearly did a 7 year stretch in the nic and was a nasty horrible violent cunt as a youth) i changed my ways and am happy as f*ck now with a 5 bed house and a stunning girl.
Word from the wise fella...drop the act as you fool no-one at all and you have some great fight knowledge (mod worthy as i once stated) but you need to channel it in a less aggressive way and stop pissing people off around here.
I do think your a cunt (really i do) but am gonna give you the chance to prove me and everybody else that dislikes you wrong.
Up to you...i don't hold grudges by the way
Some others might but not me...
