I'll tell you what Spicoli Kelly Pavlik reminds me of a modern day version of Carlos Monzon, only his chin ain't as good. If Paul Williams could beat Kelly Pavlik im not saying he will, but if he could that would give us somewhat of an idea of how Monzon vs Williams would go IMO.
Sorry man,you lost me ??But just for the discussion,Williams has a long way to go before he matches straight power shots with Pavlik......Breath 1,2,3 .One hypothesis at a time
I think Pavlik and Monzon are very similar Spicoli there both big Middleweights, there both robotic, there both quite slow handspeed wise. They both rely on the jab/right hand combo, i maybe seeing things here but thats what i noticed when i was watching both fighters.

I'm sorry ICB but my jaw just hit the floor here.

    I'm a bit speechless.

I honestly have no idea where to start here.

Pavlik & Monzon alike I just don't see it. Pavliks faster then Monzon and throws more punches then Monzon.
Pavliks a fast starter while Monzon took his time with his opponents.

I def. see the jab straight right analogy but I think as far as them being the same I think Pavs is more versatile.

So your basically agreeing with me except your saying Carlos Monzon was a slower starter and picked his shots better, where as Pavlik is a faster starter and throws more punches but Pavlik is also accurate like Monzon, but other than a few little differences i can't believe people can't see the similarities..........

There both big Middleweights, there both accurate punches, there best weapon is setting up the right hand with there jab, there both robotic, there both slow hand speed wise, and there offense is almost the same, they both rarely throw uppercuts or hooks instead they like straight lazer like punches straight down the pipe........

And you say Carlos Monzon was a slow starter but that wasn't always the case, what about when he destroyed Nino Benvenuti in the rematch ? or when he took apart Jose Angel Napoles ? he was constantly moving forwards and making the smaller Napoles fight on the backfoot right from the get go. And he threw plenty of punches in that fight from what i remember, and beat the smaller Napoles to a pulp.

One last thing i agree Pavlik has a bit more variety in his punches than Monzon, but he still relies alot on the jab, right hand combo. Exactly like Carlos Monzon did.

I didn't believe anyone could criticize who Marg has fought in the past. But you did.
Margarito has no fears. He has fought Williams, SAntos, Clottey, Cotto, and Cintron. Look at his resume, he will fight anyone....back-to-back-to-back. If anything, I think Margarito deserves a "gimmie" like so many other people are taking these days.

Margarito is good at Welter. And I wish for him to stay there.
