I was talking about the style rather than the practicioner
(with my family name theres no way a person can be more celtic!)

Jeet Kun Do - there is a heavy focus on the centre line in that if I'm not wrong.

Ed Parker, modifies it by picking angles to work from, but to have proper technique youve got to start from a base repetition drill, wich is what that is.
Its sort of like Katas, one of the first thing my teacher told me is,"If you find all of your opponents lined up exactly like this, you wont be able to hit them, you'll be laughing too hard"
Its a repetition drill to get the fighter used to total coverage blocking, and doing it hard enough to make your blocks hurt your opponent.
Also if you hard block enough to get the arm of your opponent out of round it creates an opening for the counter shot

And for those who havent guessed,I do things slightly different.
My logic is as follows,if the martial arts, ala Jeet Kun Do and Ed Parker Ken Po,can learn things from Boxing
Then why cant boxing learn things from the martial arts?
Most gyms arent going to ask you to take centering ,and then wallop you in the gut
    I will
    I stress balance,mental,and physical,I stress technique,and I stress conditioning
I know me and Scrap sound like we're coming from mars some days, but we both know what we're looking at,and looking for

don't advocate this as i don't think it will work all that well but check it out, analyze and discuss. maybe we (i) can all learn something

Thats a variant of Ju Jitsu, lots of elbows, tight to your opponent
What I dont like about what I saw(and caveat that by saying what I saw in the clip) is how far he's allowing his head to come past his front knee,it just doesnt look balanced to me.
I probably should have taken a side clip of the modified to boxing 8 point,my bad,I'll see if I cant get that together later today, but one of the things I stress,is for balance you have to keep your shoulders directly over your knees,if you go too far in either direction front or back, your in a controlled fall, and it only takes one well placed shot to help you on your way.
The shot Foreman leveled Frazier with,Joes head and shoulders were way past his front knee,Frazier came with an over head cross if I remember correctly, and"Down goes Frazier"
    Still, interesting stuff Iceman
