I was talking about the style rather than the practicioner
(with my family name theres no way a person can be more celtic!)

Jeet Kun Do - there is a heavy focus on the centre line in that if I'm not wrong.
Ed Parker,modifies it by picking angles to work from,but to have proper technique youve got to start from a base repetition drill,wich is what that is.
Its sort of like Katas,one of the first thing my teacher told me is,"If you find all of your opponents lined up exactly like this,you wont be able to hit them,you'll be laughing too hard"
Its a repetition drill to get the fighter used to total coverage blocking,and doing it hard enough to make your blocks hurt your opponent.
Also if you hard block enough to get the arm of your opponent out of round it creates an opening for the counter shot
