i had it about 7-4 for mosley too. Mayorga just doesn't have the skill mosley has.

I agree with you Mick I don't think Mosely lost 9 rounds either. I was merely using this as another example that the fight WAS VERY close and that experts had it both for Mosely and for Mayorga.
This was in reply to those who insist the Mosely was comfortably ahead and that he was winning easily.
Clearly, given the huge amount of sentiment regarding Mayorga being competitive right until the end, the idea that Mosely was running away with it was not correct.
It was a close fight, Mayorga put up a very good showing.
Mosley pulled that out right from the edge. Even if Mayorga had survived the round that round would have been the sealer for Mosley. Mayorga gave Mosely a very tough time.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Don't waste your time listening to the keyboard warriors. Their opinions are generally not worth the time of day.
Mayorga put up a performance against Mosley, that up until the end of the 11th, was almost as good as Cottos was. Of course, Mayorga faltered and what happened in the 12th happened. But Mayorga showed once again that he isnt a bum, and though not always aesthetically pleasing, he can box and put on a show. No shame in that.
HBO commentary is always shit and only worth a wank when Lennox is in the house, they overdo everything and have conversations about other fighters during fights then quickly "Do a bit" when someone lands...
I have to turn the sound down if i watch a downloaded fight as it does my swede in so much
Bring back Reg n Harry i say![]()
I had my man Mosley up by 1 round going into the 12th round but the early rounds were hard to score. As a Mosley fan its a fight I didnt enjoy watching, he should have boxed instead of trying to trade with Mayorga but thats just Shane for you. He always fights his opponents fight instead of making things easy for himself. Mosley should stay down at welterweight, at light middle he relies too much on single shots instead of combinations. Would love to see a rematch with Cotto, Magarito on the other hand I think would just have too much for him at this stage in Molseys career.
Nothings Sweeter Than Sugar
You Say Hbo is bias but Bruce is right man wtf is that dude. Shane Mosley won that fight hands down Margay Landed nothing damn near. He missed so many punches it was sad the only effective thing he did was tackle Shane Mosley. I am glad he god knocked out and i really dont like the way he fights and it got ross to shut up on how he would own Mosley which i am glad i dont have to hear anymore. I not saying Margay is a bum but i dont like the man after this fight and i am glad he got knocked out. I hope Shane can get a match with Cotto or Margrito i give him a chance and hope he wins a belt again because i think he is great fighter and i wish him the best in the following years.
I watched the fight again it doesn't change my opinion at all, Ricardo Mayorga missed majority of his punches and he wasn't landing effective punches. Shane Mosley landed the more effective/cleaner punches. And i thought he was clearly ahead going in the 12th round by atleast 3 rounds.
I don't know how anybody could have it 9 rounds for Mayorga when a blindman would have to score 4-7 to Mosley. I can't see any way any of those could be be given to Mayorga. They weren't even close. If you want to be generous to Mayorga, give him 1,2,3,8,9. That's it.
On my card, I gave Mayorga 2,3, and 8. Rounds 2 and 8 were the only rounds Mayorga dominated, while Mosley dominated 4-7 and 11, and clearly won 10.
Wasn't Bunce just saying the Jean Pascal is as good a fight as Jermaine Taylor? Fool.
What a BS scorecard, horrible really.
I still haven't technically seen the fight![]()
And actually thinking about it the round that Mosley pounded Mayorga around the ring, i think it was the 7th round. That could have been scored a 10-8 round.
