    Yeah it can suck.

I can be a bit superstitious for a scientist though and at the risk of sounding really corny perhaps this was meant to happen (the tournament cancellation not the death - sorry to hear about that).

Maybe you need a couple of weeks off of competition to get things into gear training wise? I mean sure your efforts are great but you said yourself sparring has been limited lately since you haven't had access to the right people.

Maybe this is your opportunity to perhaps look at more interclub sparring without offending your coach since I'm assuming he'll need to take some time off anyway?

I've just been away in the UK for a month so haven't been online much - I am actually interested in your log though so keep us updated .

While I met a lot of people who have inspired me in a few different areas of my life. As far as boxing and physical conditioning goes I was really happy and encourage by meeting Scrap and learnt a lot in only a few days - after not learning much at all in my old gym for more than the last year I spent there.

I've decided that my time off of boxing leading up to this trip has being good for me in the long run. Just working out now how to put everything I've learned from everyone into action.

Seriously you have soooo much time to win other big tournaments ahead of you - you'll get your break in one form or another at some stage and you'll do great!

And if its who Im pretty sure it is,losing on points in the Championships is no biggie
And judging(again if Im right on who Im talking to) your height and weight schematics dont lend itself to a knockout, work away and work the jab

    Haha, thanks TM.

Yeah, I'm tall for my weight and I don't give a lot of 8 counts and never had a stoppage. I usually just either keep up or out work my opponents. We'll see how this next one goes.....

One thing to think on,The Mongols against the Russians strung them out and then struck
In boxing make her chase you away using the jab, then step in with a well timed hook, let her momentum bring half of your power to you

I clicked on your profile and just realized that you're a girl.

haha...I've seen you call her dude, man, and a few other guy catch phrases, and almost said something, but it was more fun to just smile and move on.

I have had this problem for sure.

I really don't know what to do about it. i think it's common when you don't have enough sparring partners your own size to work with.

Plus if have a good sparring temprement then a coach will trust you with a beginner and think he's made a good match and forget that you need other sparring partners too.

I think I commented a few times but probably was not really pushy enough about getting a variety od sparring partners.

When the state squad had interclub sparring that was awesome but when it wasn't there then it sucked really.

My main coach didn't really want me to go there because it was on a day when he would traditionally get me to work with his girlfriend.

At the time this started we hadn't done that for a while but she wanted more coaching so he wanted to start it again but we could have just as easily done that any other day of the week.

I ended up going anyway but i think my coaches attitude set a precident for where they prioritized my training in the club.

I think my skills ended up going backwards in most areas especially since for a long time i wasn't even allowed to throw particular combinations at her like hooks or uppercuts and her being taller and heavier i found that really limiting.

If your coach really can't see that you need better quality sparring i would go elsewhere because he's either really not taking your development seriously or he doesn't know what you need to develop.

That sounds harsh but as you say this is the second time it has happened to you!

I had the opportunity to get a bout tomorrow but there is a huge storm here and it didn't seem worth it to drive over a huge mountain pass through the snow and ice to fight someone I've already beat twice. So hopefully next weekend I'll get a bout. I'm itching to get back in there and end my losing streak.

I'm running a 5k in the morning. I have no idea why. It's crazy cold here. Windy, snowing and the temp is going to be about 15°! Oh, and I'm getting a cold. Probably not the best idea to go out and run but I have a problem with not doing things I say I'm going to do. Besides, maybe no one will show and I can win.
