There's a definite difference but it's not massive.
To me it's less about size but about styles.
Floyd is simply a better technical boxer than virtually anyone else and was able to move up because he relied more on outstanding boxing ability, defense, speed and elusiveness.
Pacquaio is a far mor aggressive, physical fighter than Floyd and needs his greatest boxing assets, power, strength, ferocity, chin, toughness will be reduced with the step up in weight.
I don't think he can beat Oscar, although Oscar I don't think will go hard on Manny anyways. I think it's going to be little more than an exhibition fight really with both fighters being cautious and not a great deal of action.
But having said that Manny has already moved through several divisions and if anything has looked better and more destructive the higher up he's gone. He's an amazing fighter.
I guess I'm somewhere in the middle on this.. I fully agree this fight is tough for Pacquiao due to style over size the more I think about it. But, there's also the fact that Pacquiao is jumping up 12 pounds in weight, two whole divisions, when he only just debuted at lightweight. Whether he is natrually big enough to fight at Welter and whethere he puts the weight on properly and has adaquate preperation is a bit different. Mayweather had a good few fights at 140 and 147 after he left lightweight, and got used to making that weight over a couple years. Definetly very interesting to see what Manny will weigh in at for this fight.. Id say he shouldn't need to weigh over 140 personally, just doesn't seem like it would be smart to try and bulk up to be stronger against DLH.
Yeah your bright......
You stated there really was not much of a size difference between Mayweather and Pacquiao....about an inch...
I posted there was more then an inch..plus reach plus I brought up the body mass issue...Your reply is
Weight Classes not height classes...Tyson is bigger them Williams....
Before you post think.....
Do not try to repeat what I already posted and make it sound like your own....
Welcome to the forum...Have some rep for being a fucking idiot

I've seen pictures of Pacquaio way closer in height to Oscar than that. Also Pacquaio is further away from camera, NOtice HOpkins who was way taller then Oscar in their fight? He looks the same size as Oscar because he is further away from the camera when he is actually 2 1/2-3 inches taller then Oscar.
Mayweather has been been measured height wise from 5'7-5'8, He didn't look any taller then Judah who is 5'7
Pacquaio is 5'6 1/2 which puts the height difference anywhere from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches. Pacquaio is the same height as Hatton, and Hatton didn't look that much shorter then Mayweather.
As for size at every weight class they have been at Pacquaio waist, chest, legs, have all been bigger. Of course Mayweather who pumped up for welterweight would be bigger when comparing him at WW to Pacquaio at lightweight, but they still weighed around the same weight regardless. If Pacquaio is about an inch shorter then MAyweather and weighs in 5-10 pounds heavier then Mayweather at WW then I would assume he's the same size if not bigger, Hatton weighed in at 160 against Collazo, and he weighed 155 to MAyweather's 149 (according to outside soures) in their fight. Hatton IMO looked broader then Mayweather
People seem to be ignoring the fact that Mayweather isn't a natural WW, people wondered if he would even be effective at 140 after his Jose Luis Castillo fights because They thought he would be TOO small.
I think it's fair to say that Oscar has all the physical advantages in this fight. For Manny to go from 130 to 147 bascically overnight and fight somebody who is massive at that weight is a hell of an ask. Mayweather had a lot of time to grow into 147 and moving up a division presented nothing like the difficulties Manny is facing. I'm hoping he manages to stay out of the way of Oscar's left hook and outpoints him though, I'm 100% behind Manny on this one.
