As we all know Calzaghe is fighting Roy Jones in a couple weeks and then we have Pacquaio against Oscar.

Now presuming Calzaghe gets the win over Jones the Ring magazine will most likely rate him as number 2 in the world behind Manny.

Now if Manny gets knocked out or loses decisively to Oscar then I guess we'll have a new p4p number 1 in the sport.

No fighter could get KO'd and remain the number 1 p4p imo even if he was moving up in weight, so he'd probably have to drop down a spot, but Oscar is hardly going to magically leap to number 1 for beating a smaller man considering he's not even in the top 10 at all at present.


So it seems a real possibility that if Joe beats Jones impressively and Oscar decisively beats Manny that Joe Calzaghe will be rated p4p the number 1 fighter in the world.

I can't wait to see the threads that would get started if that happens, and Calzaghe is officially acknowledged as the Ring p4p Champ

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Calzaghe retiring after the Jones fight?
