Paulie hasnt earned the respect from the british media he is due as he is an established champ now that more than earnt his stripes against cotto.

But hatton SHOULD be way to physical for him and paulies only hope is to draw hatton in and beat him to the punch which i just do not see happening.

Hatton will too physical for Paulie although there is always the chance Paulie uses his feet to take away Hatton's physicality. Cotto couldn't stop Paulie and is a better boxer and harder puncher than Hatton. Hatton didn't look convincing in his last outing. Thus, Hatton on the cards in a relatively close win.
How didnt Hatton look convincing? It was an outstanding performance IMO, the only thing i had to falter about Hatton was that he took a few many and got a bit wobbled in round 10, but apart from that he was clearly dominant in the fight and he looked very sharp. At 140, I would say Ricky is stronger than Miguel Cotto, but at 147 Cotto is stronger. I believe this fight will be tougher for PM than the Cotto one IMO.

I'm really looking forward to the fight now its getting closer.

Hatton will definitely start favourite but Paulie could give him problems.

However, even though Hattons looks to have slipped slightly recently Malignaggi's last couple of performances have been pretty poor.

The formbook shows them both looking a little shaky right now.

Should be a good fight though, and some great lightweights out there for the winner.

Fair enough. And if I recall correctly, Paulie fought Cotto at 140. Personally, I didn't think Hatton looked great, but we can agree to disagree. I acknowledge he dominated the fight, but against Juan Lazcano.

Outside of Mayweather, Paulie may be the fastest fighter Hatton's fought. The problem is Paulie has NO power. Completely feather fisted. All Ricky has to do is get on the inside and he'll bruise Hatton up. One thing that is certain is that Paulie ain't knockin' Hatton out.

In terms of effort and work rate I believe that was one of Hattons best performances since Tszyu, but thats my opinion. PM has looked really poor in his last two outings, but maybe he needs a name like Hatton to motivate him for him to fight the best he can possibly fight. But I cant see Hatton losing to PM, I just cant see it at all.

Well if he doesn't he might aswell retire right now, Paul Malignaggi only looked impressive taking a beating against Miguel Cotto. Ricky Hatton's punch resistance looked shaky against a natural Lightweight Juan Lazcano, and his defense at times was just ridiculous.

And i disagree with you Tam i don't think Hatton look that sharp. He wasn't jabbing his way in like he had in the past, and he wasn't giving his opponents angles. Which was one of his strong points. And at times he was lunging in with no defense and walking forward in straight lines.

Hatton should win a 12 round UD but i think Paulie, might be alot sharper in this fight considering the event and the opposition. And i think he will give Hatton 12 awkward rounds but i can't see him winning.

Agree Tam, Hatton comes back to his best. Especially with Floyd Sr and his new team. Hatton is very focused and confident. I Can't see anything else but a dominant Hatton performance and victory.

Hatton should win, but i cant see him knocking out Paulie, no way in my opinion, Paulie has some skills, i see a scorecard like 116-112 along those lines, with Hatton winning rounds with his bursts, Hatton is on the slide, and i would put my house on him not stopping Paulie.

Hatton should win. Even a faded version should be busy enough to outpoint powderpuff. If he doesn't he should retire.

I'm naturally a cynical cunt so didn't think much of the Mayweather snr appointment. Now though that's what i'm MOST interested in seeing. What improvement Maywether has made. If he really has made a difference theres still some top, winnable, fights left for Ricky.
