I would like to see him fight; Toney, Rahman or Peter. He needs a big named fight with plenty of experience to give him trouble. I would back him to win all of the fights but he should fight someone of this type of caliber. Winable, but really good experience.

    only joking

division seems really thin except for the Klitschkos, i am having trouble picking someone but as memphis said sam peter would be a good one especially if he fights like he did against Vitali
sam peter is soooo slow should be perfect for haye as long as he dont stand & brawl (which he probably would) if he kept his distance for a few rds he should be able to beat him in second half of fight

Agreed on that with Maskaev.I think Haye would look ultra destructive and very sharp against those slow feet but Oleg still has a little danger persona?

    Right Spicoli...

To me someone like McCline whos fallen off a bit even after the Mollo win.

Another good opponent for Haye would be the winner of Brewster-Seldon.

Never thought Of McCline??Might be a nice oppurtunity as far as he does in contrast to Wlad and the size factor,Good prep if talk of Wlad fight were to come off.Also..McCline looks to their for the taking .

Did not even know about Seldon vs. Brewster fight.Talk about two that are hanging on.Seldon.....one of my top all time "Hey,Dummy what were you thinking" picks to have a top notch career.Whoops

Chris Arriola or Eddie Chambers. I'd like to see him end the Arriola hype, but against Chambers, it might not be quite so easy. He wins one of these, he is ready for Wlad.

I'd like him to fight for British or European title before there's talk of fighting for a world title.

He should give himself at least a year to find his ideal weight and settle into it. I think he needs to gradually add about a stone in weight to be fully effective at heavy. Any less and he risks being bullied by the bigger guys and more and his speed and mobility will suffer.

Talk that he is ready for a world title after beating 37 year old Monte Barrett is a bit like those that said Amir Khan was ready for a world title after fighting Gomez

I dont think that's the best comparison. Haye was the undisputed cruiser champ. He's not lacking experience. Khan is still a novice.

And the British champion is the beyond shot Danny Williams. Danny struggled, and was lucky, to beat McDermott before his loss.

Skelton is fighting ancient plodder Paolo Vidoz for the European title.

The Barrett win surely surpasses anything at Brit/Euro level at the moment?

I agree it would be best to spend a while finding his ideal weight. But he seems to have propelled himself towards the top guys already.

I would like to see the Haymaker, fight Audly Harrison, and Danny Williams,on the same night, put both into retirement, fed up of the stinkers they both have. [ not jokeing] then take on a Klitsko, cos the rest of the heavy whts are on par with the British pair, only differance is they are the rest of the world stinkers, The heavy whts of today are the poorest ive seen in 50 years.

Haye needs a showcase fight. A big name who is a threat with his power, but slow enough for Haye to get around. Sam Peter, Oleg Maskaev, Hasim Rahman come to mind. Jameel McCline would work, but you never know what he might look like. If he fights like he did Sam Peter he could be dangerous. Haye's chin would definitely be tested. But if he fights like any other night it's easy pickin's.

You never appreciate my comparisons ..... Haye lacks experience at heavyweight though... only two fights. It will take him a while to get used to how hard he's getting hit (Barrett had him hurt a couple of times).

I'm sure that if he gets put in with a big top 5 heavy he is in real danger of losing by KO. Skelton would I think be a test he's big and would maul and try to use his size to bully Haye - I'd like to see how he dealt with that.

Everyone seems in a hurry to get to where they are going these days and it leaves them unprepared when they get there.

Khan has only 4 fewer fights than Haye and the Cruiser div is the weakest of all hes now at heavyweight and he has beaten some one who he was meant to in so far as proving where he is from beating wlad or vitali its not a bad comparison

Peter will be a good test but Haye has to improve his stamina before he goes in with someone who might be able to walk through his punches 12 rounds would be tough for Haye IMO

As for weight he has had a year of putting on weight and looks good where he is he can't put it on his chin he is never going to be the biggest boy in town

David Haye should fight someone the size or style of Wladimir if that's his end goal.

Size: McCline, Dimitrenko, Meehan, Thompson, Austin, Donald, Wach, Fields.

Style: Maskaev, Dimitrenko, Golota, Povetkin, Sinan Samil Sam

Just for the hell of it: Sam Peter, Lamon Brewster, Sultan Ibragimov, Juan Carlos Gomez, Fres Oquendo, Eddie Chambers, Matt Skelton, Michael Sprott, Danny Williams, Audley Harrison.
