Well said & Bang on .. & its for those reasons that my gut feeling has had me voting for PM on points..

    Ive been thinking that too.

It's normally Hatton crazy in the week of his fight. Considering Malignaggi is considered his biggest threat at 140, it sure hasn't captured peoples interest, even amongst hardcores.

I like to think it will be a Hatton points win.

Its interesting this one because you dont know what incarnation of either fighter is going to turn up. Ricky has observed the signs that things havent been quite right, so its good to at least see him make an effort.

Its a case of wait and see if its enough or not.

Its an important fight for Ricky, needs to show more than he has in a good while.

I think hatton by Decision because he will walk through paulie fast hands and go to the body to slow him down paulie does not have the power to keep hatton away for 12

Hatton on points , but if there was ever a fight were Hatton could end up stopped on cuts then this is it.

Im sure they exist but they are probably seriously warped individuals. A world without any absurdity is a world without life itself though. Or vice versa. or a little in the middle.

Ive just finished watching Cotto: Malignaggi for the first time in an age just now. Malignaggi is a tough SOB but he is there to be hit. If Hatton can sharpen up that head movement then he should be okay.

I think somebody mentioned earlier on this thread that Hattons footwork is very good. I concur with that. He's going to get closer to Paulie a little easier and faster than Malignaggi might expect.

If Ricky is mentally as up for it as he says then he wins.

I was being sarcastic. With his feather fists, no way is Paulie stopping anybody, let alone Hatton, unless of course it is on cuts.

yea Paulie is easy to hit and can take a punch too. but i actually see this fight being a good fight even though im not fans of either.

but i think Paulie is more hyped than Hatton is. PM has been wanting this fight for a while and im sure he will give it his all and maybe sneak out the UD. but there was another thread i think where somebody said Hatton might be overlooking Paulie. And if thats true then Hatton is doing a big NO NO, just because Paulie doesnt have power doesnt mean he cant win.

how did Hatton look poor? I dont understand how he did at all...
Everyone is saying he looked poor. IMO he didn't look any different than he has done in past fights. Sure he's had his highs against Tszyu and Castillo etc....but then there has been his piss poor performances against guys like Vilches, Urango (altho he was ill), Maussa - to some extent, Collazo, Mayweather...

Ok maybe not all the best examples but you have to realise that it doesn't make a story if the press/writers say 'Hatton still plodding along like normal'

It's far more entertaining to write about his diet (which will practically have zero effect on him come fight night seen as though he's been in camp for about 3 months). So long as the camp goes well, there is no problem. The only problem from that sort of lifestyle is when he can no longer maintain his training intensity. So long as he as a very good 10-12 weeks, he'll be fine. It's far more controversial to talk about how he can't absorb shots like he used to, and he can't maintain the same pace anymore.

I've watched him throughout his whole career. To me he is the same old Ricky Hatton. Pretty inconsistent, struggles with slickness, loses his cool, get's careless, but get's the job done......normally in style. The big difference over the last few years has been the increase in his level of opposition.....plus his ineffectiveness against Welters and southpaws. Paulie is neither and Hatton is going to eat him.....but only on points

I was watching the Hatton: Lazcano fight earlier too. And some of those shots Hatton was eating were ridiculous. A proper guy in his weight class would have had him out of there. Paulie might not have all the pop but he is dangerous and he's a darn sight better than a hugely inactive Lazcano way outside his weight class. Lazcano might hit harder though!!

Its an intriguing matchup to be honest.
