Tarver,Pavlik,Trinidad,Echols, all had the same facial expression.
These guys have lived in the gym most of their lives
And they all looked for all the world like they were thinking,"I dont know what to do about this"
Getting your ass handed to you, eventually happens to the best fighters,Bernard makes you look terrible while its happening. Even if you win,its a shaky decision you got because Bernard was slumming in there, you didnt really beat him.
Id hate to fight him,its one thing to just get cold cocked, its another to be slowly bled to death
Thats what makes him so frightening,he isnt afraid of you,and he isnt mad at you,he just views you as the business at hand
Probably doing some prison time early on had some bearing on this. Dwight Braxton (can't spell Qaui) also had that quality. A malefic sneer if I ever saw one.

Qwai did time in Rahway--every boxer's favorite prison. James "Great" Scott. Damn, those were the days.

Khaosai Galaxy was a merciless walk down slugger .
Edwin Velero also.
JCC was as somebody has already said , a constant aggressor.
Also Marvin Hagler , if those were the tactics he chose , could walk you down.
Marciano's an old favorite of mine. His opponent's as smart as they were, became accidents waiting to happen. Marciano would catch you when you're in act of countering him. A lot of it was Goldman's handy work, but Rocky was the delivery boy.
Monzon is right up there too. He looked like raw fighter, but my god he was deceptively good.![]()

Marciano just kept coming and coming and coming breaking you down by hitting every exposed part of your body. Once you arm came down, it was all over. He ruined several fighters by the way he stalked and destroyed them in the ring. Rex Layne and Roland LaStarza (second fight) come to mind and he didn''t do Charles any good. Funny, but the way Ricky came at Paulie reminded me of this. Never let up. Pure relentless.![]()

He was indeed relentless. Rocky would smother his opponents by crowding and swarming in with punches. It's how he was made to fight. Tough and relentless he came in to win.
Ricky really came at Paulie with such an impassioned focus that he would not be denied. It wasn't Paulie's night and he didn't give Ricky much problems, but that doesn't take away from the determination that Hatton put on.

And Monzon was like a slow moving monster that just kept coming fiorward until he stunned his prey like an animal on the Discovery Channel. Then, he moved in for a quick and clean kill. Damnn. Gotta love that.![]()
