You think maybe if I declare my place a seperate country they'll stay away.
Might try flying an Irish flag.

I used to work at a conference centre/hotel retreat type thing that was out in the country and it was surrounded by long dry grass and open fields... One day I was walking through the place, and I hear this like, ear piercing squeel like someone was dying. I run round the corner to see my boss who was like a pretty Burlie guy, with a shovel in his hand wacking the shit out of these rose bushes.. He was hacking and chopping and we were like, "what's going on"? and he goes "There was a fucking snake".. Just then while he's still chopping, the snake comes flying out of another bush off to the side goes across the grass behind him.. We yelled that the snake was behind him while he's still chopping thinking it was in the roses.. He turnes around and again, the most awful squeel i've ever heard.... He ended up getting it with the shovel...
But he was absolutely terrified of it..
I'm not sure how scared I am of them, because I've seen very few of them in my life.. If I lived in an area where they were around often, I would probably be more afraid...
Spiders just freak me totally the fuck out though.. Horrified by them..

yup, put me down for spiders being wayy more scarier then snakes. just the little harmless ones in the basement, I mean really tiny, send me running and screaming like a little girl. I have a whole giant recroom down there, finished and carpeted...foosball table, private bathroom, home theater with play station, workout room....and can basically live there and not be bothered by anyone...my own bed if I want, fridge. But yet I can't...cuz the evil skeery spiders live there.
I think I would probably change my mind if I picked up a t-shirt or something in my room and there was a snake under it.. That would freak me the hell out probably just as much...
Yet all things considered, I would rather have a pet snake than a pet spider...
My dad has no fear of spiders at all and would catch them in the house in his hands, then chase us around the house with them.. Man I would almost be literally throwing up from terror while i'm running.. It was just playing over and over in my head, if he catches me and puts that spider anywhere near me, i'll kick his balls so fucken hard he'll need surgery to bring them back down out of his stomach.... One day he chased me for about 10 minutes and I was crying hysterically for about 8 of them.. one of the worst 10 minutes of my life..

I dont like spiders or snakes. Spiders are probably worse though.
OMG, and you guys call yourself men?
How can you be afraid of something that you are a million times bigger than?
Something that you can easily kill by crushing it with your foot, a finger, a shoe, a newspaper, or a multitude of items.
How can you be afraid of this.........

We have tiger snakes along the footpath where I run regularly, I hate them. I remember I was in primary school and we had a triathalon and in the space of 2km's of the run I saw about 3 or 4 tiger snakes. I shat myself, that does not even compare to my fear of spiders though. I was biten in yr.8 on m hand when I was getting something out of the shed and had this rash on my hand for 6 months whihc would not go away and was itchy as hell. I was told I was lucky that it was a little one otherwise something serious could have happened to me.
I think that is the only downside of australia; the vast array of animals which can kill you.
