You can only imagine if Joe Luis would have had the growth hormone and the type of training that Holyfield had...
I agree with Holyfield. He probably would have beat him, probably even decisively imo. He never said he was greater than him, just that he could beat him. I think Mayweathers claim to be greater than SRR or Briggs claim to be greater than Ali are obsurd. Holyfields remark is not.

Right, Holyfield didnt just say hed beat him, he said hed tear him up!
Like he tore up Larry Holmes and Bert Cooper? Both were faced while in Holyfields prime and both were either washed up or not very good![]()
Michael Moorer started as a Light Heavyweight. He beat Holyfield convincingly in the 1st fight.
I personally think that Louis vs Holyfield would be a great fight but I do favour Louis who had a fantastic jab and a great jab caused Holyfield alot of problems for example old Larry.
Still a great fight and an arguement can be made for both - Holyfield certainly had the busy style to win the rounds.
Moorer was also a converted southpaw with a double hard fast jab but that was a one point fight. Now doubt Holyfield ate jabs,I thought he was over reliant on his own vs.Holmes but his counter right/left hook were great in return if a guy left it out there.Would have been fun while it lasted.
