Default De La Hoya to fight Baldomir after defat to Pac ?

I have heard rumors that DLH will fight back at 154 against Carlos Baldomir after his defeat to Pacquio ? If this is true can DLH get back to the top at 154 ?

He'd probably do better at 154 but he's never gonna be the man he was even 18 months ago.

    I wouldn't be shocked at a return to 154.

Baldomir would be a good keep busy fight before a huge money fight with the result of the Mayweather-Hatton-Pacquaio triangle.

Baldomir hasn't won a meaningful fight since beating an old blown up Gatti in '06. I like Baldomir and always root for him, because he's a true common man. But in truth I wouldn't mind ODLH fighting Baldomir because he can get his win and retire hopefully.

Baldomir is made for DLH style wise as long as DLH has the leggs to go 12 rounds.

I remember Vernon Forrest teeing off on Baldomir's face and the guy kept coming like the Terminator. I don't think Oscar can crack as hard as Vernon did that night. I wouldn't be surprised if Baldomir got to Oscar late and put him down for a ten count. Oscar lost a big chunk of something by coming down to 147 and I'm going to guess by going back up to 154 he's only going to get some of it back.

Remember Baldomir was supposed to be the easy fight for Judah. For some reason it's easy for people to underestimate him.

A WIN OVER bALDO WOULD PROVE NOTHING EXCEPT dlh NEED FOR A WIN DUE TO EGO...tALK ABOUT HAND PICKED....

Baldo is so slow you can watch another fight between his combos...Not too mention he has lost 3 of his last 4...

It is a joke...If he loses who will he callmout next? Duran?...Leonard?...

The guy is killing his once great legacy

I don't think Oscar is past it yet... I honestly believe fighting Pacquiao for the first time is an experience most people do not enjoy. Marquez was dropped 3 times early, Barrera got the shit beaten out of him. Really only Morrales really looked good early when dealing with Pacquiao.

I've noticed even in the Floyd fight, and I've said it before that if Floyd had thrown more he would have dominated Oscar, he should have fought the same way he did against Corrales, but they were both a little gun shy, and when Floyd would throw combinations Oscar wouldn't counter or do anything but try and block shots, Well Pacquiao being both a southpaw and having a higher work rate, that worked perfectly, because as long as he threw punches Oscar would be too busy focusing on his defense. Speed kills, and Baldomir has no speed. I think Oscar wins this.

The thing is that Marquez, Barrera, and Morales where not old, worned out, out of gas, etc. Pac beat Barrera and Morales fair square. JMM? Well, won't say much because I don't agree with the decisions. But ODLH? Not only was he passed his prime and every other thing Pac and his team admitted, he was also drained to the point of weighting even less than Pac. When Oscar got beat by Mosley and Hopkins, Oscar was throwing fast combinations, power shots, that sharp jab, using his legs, etc. He got beat fair square and brought action to the fight. As for his fight with Pac, he hardly threw punches, hardly moved, etc. I was expecting the fight to be stopped because he was not doing much on round 7. Just blocking and looking all drained.
Does Oscar still has something left? I wish I could say that. After the Forbes fight, I was not convinced about him anymore even though he won.

Of course DLH wins...Could he seek a softer opp?....

He sought out Stevie Forbes in hopes to look good...he got the win but looked terrible in doing so...

He sought out Pac in hopes of his size being the factor with a big name to boot...he was embaressed

Now Baldomir?.....Slow, on the slide big time, no power

People debating who wins this makes it much more interesting. Doesn't seem like a slam dunk for either guy so that might raise the interest level right there.
