Its like,"Im from no where near Manchester(Planet Mars,or somewhere)but i'll support them knowing that their'll end up winning more or less every game."

    Makes me sick

P.S, you should always support your local team wherever you where born at.I was born in Hartlepool so i support them even known their miles away from the premier!!Supportor by heart, thats the way it should be too!!
Oh! Yvonne save me the time...

    I been a United Fan since 1998....
Not just a regular fan who says he's a fan...

I live in the US and on Sundays like today I sometimes have to wake up at 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning to catch the games live.

I bet you I'm more of a fan then people who actually live in Manchester.
I have their jerseys, DVDs and try to watch all their games.

During the Champions League I would take my lunch break from work between 12:45 and 1:45 and drive to a local restaurant who had the games.

    I'm passionate about footy mate.
I root for many teams because that's how much I like the sport.

    America
    Real Madrid
    Borussia Dortmund
    LA Galaxy
    AC Milan
    River Plate
    Man U

I been playing it since I was 5 and still play today. Just last week we won our 2nd title in a row and were going for our 3rd.

You or for that matter ANYONE else can tell me I root for you United just because they win.
I root for United cause that's the team that I used to watch as 16/17 yr. old I've been with United through the good and bad times.

When we went on a dry spell for 3 fucken seasons I was still rooting for United. We fiucken started off a BRILLIANT 03-04 season and it I was never more condfident that the cup would end up in our hands but wow! what a turn of events... The only thing that ended up in our hands was, well nothing. We couldn't close out the season and then FCPorto gives it to us in the ass to knock us off the Euro Cup.

So I do understand what your saying about some fans just rooting for a team cause they think they'll win but not here not me.

The thing is, most people in Europe might see that as a contradiction in terms. I mean, how can you really have more than one team etc... [1]

Also, I will say that claiming Manchester United has had bad times in the period of 1998-2009 is a fukkin' joke. Same thing pretty much goes for Real Madrid. And AC Milan (I'll give you Dortmund, they've been really crap for a few seasons).

[1] Athough admittedly most people in Denmark will support a team in this country and a team abroad, usually in England. I do too. And I am PRETTY DAMN PISSED after the same match that makes you happy right now. F***.

    Mikkel,
When your a Red Devil anything short of a Cup is a bad season...

It's how were taught and it's all we know.

If we don't have the cup it's a bad season. End of.

I want Man U to win the league again this year just to annoy all the Scousers who've been making their mouths go since they went top. For years now Liverpool have been so far out of the title race by this stage of the season that they've been able to concentrate on the Champions League, the reason they managed to win it a few years ago. United have been involved in both competitions every year and it'll be interesting to see how well Liverpool cope with playing in two competitions at once when the pressure atarts building as the season goes on.

Barcelona are in a different class to everyone else in the Spanish league. It's like watching 1980s Brazil they're so good.

The ironic thing is though that all the scousers I've met supported Everton or Tranmere

Like Man Utd it's just glory boys world wide who actually support them.

Ryan Giggs - 35? The man played like the God he is on Saturday against Chelski. The best play on the pitch by far and he was playing in Central Midfield.

The most decorated player in British footballing history.

Oh and 1-0 to United over Wigan so that means

2 Points behind Liverpool with a game in hand.

Theres nothing I can do about that, they can think what they want.
I root for teams that I like their style of play.

I'm American of Mexican decent but Internationally I root for Argentina because I like their style and I always have since I was kid. I'll die as an Argentina fan I've been with them through it all.

We've been THEE team to beat how many cups now and we've been the favorite how many times now?
    But we fall short.

River Plate has been shit over in the Argentine league, last fucken place and they've been a dissapointment but it comes without saying injuries and politcs have fucked us over but I wouldn't expect you to know anything about it cause you don't follow that league.

Americas been shit over in the Mexican league we just took a 4-1 loss to Atlas whom we were favorite over and got knocked off the runing for the Cup.

    Exactly.

Just curious, would you support Argentina against Mexico or USA? I would find that strange, even if it is pretty common here to have a second favorite national team in addition to your own. Semi-OT, what is your take on Maradona?

Dunno much about the Argentinian league no, but always wanted to see a derby between River Plate and Boca Juniors. Superclasico. Some day before I die, I hope. I'd probably root for Boca btw, but that is Diego's fault.

But yeah, rooting for Man Utd, AC Milan and Real Madrid seem a bit strange from my POV, but everyone can be a fan by their own terms, I guess. It's not like most of us only cheer for one boxer either.

And unlike Lyle you do seem to know your football

I've been rooting for Argentina since I can remember since the 80's when I was just a little kid. Always have and always will.

The thing to understand here is that I've always been like this...

    Mikkel do me a favor...
Go to the search feature here in the hidden board and type Man United or Manchester Untied and see the results.
Or type footy or soccer and see the results.
Type Argentina, Messi or Batistuta and see the results.

Sometimes I think I'm more of a fan then some ENGLISH people here.
Check the EUFA cup threads at times it was just me posting to myself for a day or two.

About Argentina, I've always been a fan. While my family rooted for Mexico as I kid I didn't like the team and didn't like their style.
I'll never forget Goicochea (GK) for Argentina and Batistuta who were my idols as a little kid.

As for my alltime players it's like boxing for me. 1,2 and 3 can be put in anyway and I don't think there's a wrong or right.
In no particular order, Maradona, Ronaldo & Pele.
Of the 3, I think Ronaldo is the more well rounded player.
    Maradona is the brain.
While Pele was just a sharp shooter who was keen on scoring.

As I've stated in plenty of threads. Religously I follow EPL, FMF & LFP.
Followed by Calcio. The rest of the leagues I don't follow religiously but I do have teams I support.

Hey Mick, don't take the criticism personally. Man Utd fans are generally disliked by all other fans anyway!

Granted it is very unusual for anyone to have more than one team, especially here in the UK. But you're from the US so guess things are different for you...

As for River Plate - I've atually seen them live! Amazingly against Boca in Buenos Aires a couple years back. The game was at Boca though so I ended up with all the Boca fans and supporting Boca!

The game ended 1 -1, pretty rubbish game in all honesty but the atmosphere was something else. I must admit it would have been a pretty scary experience if it wasn't for all that Quilmes I drank, us Gringos certainly weren't that welcome.

Oh yeah, the area of Boca is an absolute shithole!!
