Oh I believe it! If the Mosley that fought Mayorga shows up he's in trouble! Major Trouble!!!

But then you have the Mosley backers who really have to hope & look at the other side of the coin. Margarito took some huge shots vs Cotto... could they have taken a toll? You hit a wall hard enough for longer enough eventually its gonna crack!

Mosley is still very fast, faster than Margarito & even at 37 has excellent skills.

I like both guys going into this, so I don't really mind who wins but as I saiod before my heart will be with Mosley.
I agree, you can't take those kind of shots fight after fight and not be affected by it surely? I remember watching the Cotto fight and thinking 'what the fuck is he made of' I was quite surprised he never looked in any trouble at all.
It was amazing how he took those shots, add in the Cintron rematch, there were some big shots there too!

I think there a small amount of hope for Mosley fans. Remember Margarito got the biggest win of his career over Cotto, he was the under dog going into that fight & was hungry to prove himself... here he is the overwhelming favorite! I'm sure he's still hungry but will he be at that same intensity level? I don't know...

I didn't realize until yesterday that this is not PPV. It just goes to show you that even though Margarito is the lineal champ in the deepest division in boxing facing a first ballot hall-of-famer that still no one knows him. Hell, let me stop- this isn't a trash Margo thread. I want Mosley to win, but as a guy who has never KO'd an elite fighter in this class I doubt he's about to do it against the guy with the best or second best chin in the division. Mosley will crack him often enough until 7 or 8 when it becomes obvious that Margarito isn't going anywhere and Shane has to ride a bike to even sniff the finish line. I wouldn't be surprised if Tony scored a knockdown due to Shane exhaustion, but there won't be a 10 count. There COULD be a KO, but Shane will be in an upright position when he speaks to Harold Lederman.

I think that even though Shane Mosley is old i think he can pull i win over Antino Margarito i think people are still high off Margarito last win but i think Shane Mosley is hell of alot metally tougher and has a better chin then say a Cintron or a Cotto if he keeps moving and keeps a good out put i would not have much trouble seeing Molsey ud over the tough Margrito if you have the chin and the fast hands then you can beat him not sure how much age while play but who knows though.

I think his mentality ,Shanes,Has always been that of a 'fighter' and I think he was trying to make a statement in that Mayorga fight.Stood in and went shot for shot.I do not see him being able to move/box all night at this stage of career, even if he could I think he really would not be hesitant to step in and bang in spots with Tony,as crazy as that sounds,I think Mosley needs to show Tony he can crack him when he rushes in.Im telling you,Shane is VERY live in this one early on but I see Tony coming on strong, killing that body and taking this one .Has all the makings of a war!

Think if Shane Mosley goes to the body he has a good chance of slowing Antonio Margarito down that seems to be the only place that you can hurt the man lets not forget that i know Shane Mosley has alwasy been better at the weight of 147 and i think he has a chance to beat Antonio Margarito i think he has the chin and the skill to upset Antonio Margrito.

Maybe you should stop because the fight at Staples Center is sold out. 18,157 tickets sold!

Then ask yourself this: if it had been Mayweather v. Mosley, Pacquiao v. Mosley or Hatton v. Mosley, would this be on PPV?

Mosley has never been a huge draw. That said, Margarito doesn't have the earning potential of Hatton, PBF or Paquiao. But, he has more earning potential than a lot of fighters out there - more than most welterweights. Also, it is safe to say that among Latin Americans in the greater Los Angeles area, Margarito has a strong and growing fanbase.

Moreover, it is impressive that in such depressing economic times, a Margarito fight sold out the Staples Center. Am I wrong to say that? Boxing definitely ain't dead...

Thought I'd through this in the mix Compubox statistical analysis

HBO: Boxing: WCB: Margarito vs. Mosley: RUNNING THE NUMBERS WITH COMPUBOX

"Out of respect for Mosley's proven durability, the prediction will be a comfortable unanimous decision for Margarito but if anyone has the tools to inflict the first stoppage loss on Mosley it is the "Tijuana Tornado." "

I would of though Mosely would have a chance if it had not been for the Mayorga fight. Margarito by 10th round TKO

You gotta at least give Shane props for taking this fight, the fight that would've been the ideal Swan song for Delahoya.

Anyways I like Shane and I'd like him to win, but I can't see that happening. I doubt he'll even make it to the final rounds.

No doubt, early on I could not stand Young Mosley, wearing his little leopard trunks and that big toothy smile in the Philip Holiday fight.....Now I have the utmost respect for Him.Have come to like him a lot, tons of class and a fighters mentality.

I really think he is going to "fight" Margarito, sit with him in spots on the inside.I think he is going to go for it all in this one but Margarito will get him on his heels late and over whelm him with volume and physicality,Very much to turn into a bodyshot contest between them. Two heads made of granite

    Is it a foregone conclusion?

Can Mosley box and move at a pace that can win him the rounds while keeping Margarito at bay?

Margarito is pretty one-dimensional but Mosley is growing old and always seems small.

I'm backing Margarito but think he has to spend a fair few rounds following Mosley.
