It would not be a big deal given the budget of the WBA and the California State Athletic Commision, to pay someone to stand there and watch them wrap their hands, put on their gloves and be safe about it. Shit like this has happened before, and unnecessary and serious injuries have happened. I don't understand you saying, that's the way it's been in the past so it's fine to do it this way now...........

TM, especially being a part of the sport as much as he talks about, should not be so casual about this. If i were in his position, KNOWING that this took place, i'd have probably originally posted something saying "THIS happened because they're too casual with checking and it's an issue."

There is someone watching their hands wrapped, and that was my point from the beginning if you look at my original post. I simply stated that if there is someone watching the hand wrapping at every fight, how is it possible that margarito has done this before and not been caught? I'm NOT SAYING HE HASNT DONE IT, but i'm simply asking the question. I find it hard to believe that if he did this previously, and consistently that it took this long for it to be caught.

I don't care how hectic the job is, although i understand and respect it, but it is YOUR JOB to make sure the hands are wrapped legally and safe. This was a title fight, a huge fight, there should be more than one person watching the wrapping if thats the case.

If you watch some of the big PPV fights, they interview the fighter in their dressing room while the instructions are given to them, and if you notice there are a number of guys there watching the hands being wrapped. This is protocol.. hence the "i've already given you the instructions in your dressing rooms" line at the beginning of every fight. It's not JUST when the ref checks their gloves at the beginning of the fight. If that were the case you could put bricks in your gloves.

I didnt say they arent too casual about checking equipment,Im of the opinion that they are too casual about it.
